It's a 2019 and if this is its second set of tires, it may well have been babied. It's basically an unkown.

I don't think 6500 miles and new rear tires means it's been babied, it's about to be expected for a 19.

I wouldn't go laying out that money for a Z except for factory new.

It possibly could be as low as 15k, but remember my car is a 1SS 1LE, not a 2SS 1LE. According to KBB the trade in value of my car is approximately $47k and if the ZL1 is 60 to 65k then I am still looking at 15 to 20k OTD.

This really is simply just a personal preference. It's interesting to me that you say "upgrade" from a 2022 to a 2019. Doesn't seem like an "upgrade" to me. You are going from a car with a factory warranty to one out of warranty. You are going from a '22 model year to a 3 year older car. To me an upgrade would be a ZL1 2022 or newer. (Just my thought process). Sure you are going to a car with more horsepower and maybe some creature comforts, but "upgrade" is subjective. There are a lot of other older muscle cars that have more HP then your 1SS 1LE, does that mean it's an upgrade?

Anyway... It's all subjective. Nobody knows your financial situation better then you, and nobody knows what you want out of a Camaro more then you. How you going to use it, what's your preferred color... so many questions. I probably wouldn't ever even consider another Camaro that wasn't Hyperblue Metallic. (Just an example of something that means a LOT to me in my Camaro) The things you list as non essentials like said by someones else... I'd never go without. You get used to them and you don't want to go without them.

Long winded answer, but I think you just need to put on your big boy pants (so to speak) and decide what the hell you want to do... I don't think for the vast majority of us on this forum "practical" is a word that is used when buying a Camaro. If it's worth $20k to you and you have the disposable cash... then what does Practical have to do with it?

By the way... I think you already have a badass car...

That's why I put the word upgrade in parentheses. Is it really an upgrade because it is a 2019 versus a 2022? It is certainly an upgrade in terms of its monetary value, but is it truly an upgrade for many of the reasons you mentioned.

And it is a subjective question. I'm the only one who can make the decision. I just wanted to see what others who already own Camaros (both ZL1s and not) would consider if they were making the decision. I can certainly afford it, but I'm also tight with my money. 20k could be used for a lot of other things.

Thanks. I really do like my car and that's also part of my hesitation and consideration.

2 things I’ll add that I think will make the decision easy

1) if you truly want/need the extra power then go for it. That’s about all you’re getting plus more interior features.

2) if you’re okay paying what a 2019 zl1 cost in 2019 then go for it. From what I am seeing, 19+ zl1’s are 62+ which is what they msrp’d for in 2019+. This specific reason is why I choose to buy a new car instead of a used zl1. I was not okay paying 62+k when that’s what the car msrp’d for 4 years ago.

Personally me, I have no interest in a ZL1.
Unless you are racing and NEED that 650hp or is it just bragging rights.
I will say I have been to plenty shows this year and its nothing new to see a ZL1 there and i see them day to day around. In the past year I have only seen 2 other SS 1LE since i got my car.
I personally have no need for 650hp just cruising around on the street. 455hp is plenty for me. So if it was offered to me to pick I would still choose the SS1LE over a ZL1 as I dont see the need for the extra 200hp for how i drive it

I have also considered it. Upgrading from my 2016 2SS to a ZL1. I would only consider a Hyperblue Metallic 2018 ZL1. As you can see from my profile, I still own the 2SS. I do not like the alcantara interior in the ZL1's. The extra HP wouldn't really benefit me because I just use my Camaro as a weekend toy doing some spirited driving on the back roads. The extra cost to get into the ZL1, the extra cost for insurance, gas... basically everything. It just isn't worth it to me. Now I won't say it won't ever be, but I have not made the jump yet and like you... I can easily afford it as well.

What color? If not Shock or Crush, the color could be a downgrade. That Rapid blue you have is one of the best colors ever put on a Camaro.

Interesting, where I drive 1LEs are 10fold more common than a standard 6th gen ZL1

Too with a used car that presumably has some 5/60K powertrain warranty in effect, make damn sure it hasn't been tuned and you find out the hard way when it blows up and they tell you the previous owner tuned it and your out of luck.

It's Satin Steel Metallic. It's not Rapid Blue but it looks really nice on the ZL1 with the gloss black accents.
