I have Recaro in my ZL1. They are beautiful and comfortable. I'm a small guy, less than 150 lbs, so they feel just right, including for hours on the highway.

My back would start bothering me when I had my 1SS with cloth seats. I just couldn't get comfy in them for any period of time. The Recaros are a lot more comfortable for me and not to mention just an all around nicer seat in general. Never sat in the regular 2SS style leather ones though.

When I bought my 2016 SS I remember thinking these are the most comfortable seats I’ve ever experienced in a car. Two years later I traded the SS in and bought my 1LE with Recaros and liked them even better. At 6 feet 155 lbs they fit me perfectly.

When I was ordering, the only recaros I could find to sit in were in a brand new ZL1. I went and sat in them. I'm a wide body 210lbs 36 waist 5'8, I couldnt find them comfortable. The back part felt great, was wide enough and held, but I felt like I was sitting on top of the bolsters. Other say they contour to your body, which may be true because it was a brand new ZL1, but I couldn't take the chance on an order which took 8 months. The Recaros do look nice though, if I was narrower build I would definitely get them.
Seat grip is somewhat less, but I have no regrets whatsoever with the 2SS seats. I was on a road trip for 4-5 hours and couldn't believe how comfortable they were despite no lumbar.

They’re well worth it if your flexible and have the right body type. I loved sitting in and the locked in feel of the Recaro’s at ~ 175 lbs. What didn’t work for me was the Recaros in conjunction with the side skirts. If you’re trying to get out of the car in a tight spot (let’s say a narrow garage), it’s not an easy chore. Getting past the bolsters moves your body forward 4 inches or so, while your leg is extending out to clear the side skirt. Since the door can opened only so far.. (in a tight spot), you end up with your foot behind your body, while trying to clear the roof with your head, as you exit. At least that’s how it was for me. Great seats, just not for everybody.

OP was banned and is long gone, but the question is still valid I have the stock leather 2SS seats, and they are very good. I also sat in the Recaros in SS 1LEs and ZL1s, they are better but not orders of magnitude better, the main difference is the height and (especially) rigidity of the side bolsters.
As Chutzpah stated above, they are great seats, better than any other option for the 6th gen Camaro, but not for everyone. If I bought my car today, I'd definitely option them in, since that's the cheapest way to obtain them, and then if I don't like them, they're easy to swap out for the leather seats (and there is money to be made in the process).

I've had both seats and would easily say Recaros are far superior. I'm 5'8 and 170, recently I took a trip at did 18 hours straight with no problems in those seats. I will say that my partner who is only 5'2, 120 complains they are not very comfortable. Because he is sitting lower in the seat the bolsters push his shoulders inwards. But for me, they are perfect!
I also use the feature where the seat goes all the way back when shutting off the car, that mostly gets around the problem of how hard it is to get in and out of the car.

I like them and love the look of them. 175lb at 5’11”
My wife complains that they make her feel like a stuffed sausage in them. She prefers the captain’s chair in my truck. They are great for 1-2 hour trips with the top down. For longer trips preferred the cushy seats in my past ATS-V. Again, really love the look of them and add driving experience. |

My back pain disappears whenever I sit in the Recaros. I am 6ft tall and 34 inch waist.

So I'm a fat ass 260 pound 40" waist 6' 2" guy with Recaro seats. Comfortable, Yes. Easy to get in and out of without looking like I'm 70 years old, No. As for the outside lower bolster and driving a manual, I find my clutch leg resting on top of it a majority of the time. Not ideal, but worth it. My big question will be with GM warrantying that seat when I'm sure to beat that seat bolster up before 36k miles. Anyone here have experience with Chevy handling seat issues with heavy man syndromes wear and tear on the Recaro's?
