Recaro Seats, a worthwhile option?
Considering a 2022 LT1 order.
Get the recaros? Are they just a nice cover or a better seat? Seems like a great value for the price |

if you race through the twisties then yes. otherwise if you are a bigger guy they can get uncomfortable <-- from what people have told me.

The Recaros are "harder" and more aggressive bolsters.

Im 6 foot and 200 lbs and I fit in the Recaros. Some smaller dudes have complained about sliding in the seat during track driving but I think you'll be fine. I absolutely need to have lumbar adjusting seats in every car I own or I can't do long ride but surprisingly, the Recaros are very supportive and comfortable to me without adjustable lumbar.

Sit in them first. I found them decent but liked the stock SS seats more. Long distance comfort in stock seats I know firsthand is great. The Recaros must weigh more as well.

I haven't spent any large amount of time in the standard seats, however I ended up with the Recaros in my LT1. I'm not sure they are worth the $1,500 however they are finished very nice, are bolstered well, and are very comfortable.
When you add the Recaros to the LT1 trim, you also get the leather back seat. If you have the money, I recommend adding them. If you are pushing your budget to begin with; skip them. Brandan |

as a bigger guy 6ft 350, I'd personally get them. they are definitely more supportive and I've felt extremely comfortable in them during test drives. Longest drive was around 30 minutes.
I hate sliding around the leather seats in my car. and constantly adjusting my position in the seat because they just don't feel right |

Perhaps I'll pass on the recaros and use the funds for a Corsa axle back...

OP, let me tell you the truth. The consensus after about 4 years is that the Recaro seats are superior, and if you don't like them, you can always sell them or swap them out for leather 2SS seats at or above the $1500 they cost you upfront, so don't be a chicken, tick that option box.
(I don't have the Recaro seats, by the way, I did sit in a few and they are more expensive to retrofit than what I can justify, so this isn't an owner trying to rationalize their expensive purchase.)

Bigger guy here, and I dont like them. Im 6' 280lbs. Its mainly the seat bottom I dont like. The side seat bottom bolsters dig into my legs. My car is auto so its nice I can pull my left leg back and drape it on the bolster, but if you had a manual car and had to extend your left leg to use the clutch, then it would be a problem for me. I would say unless you are a hard-core track guy, then I would skip them.
