+1, it's hard to beat the OEM SC3s for track. PS4S for dd.

Can't complain so far. I was able to cut a 1.9 60ft without airing them down and I have a manual. 1/4 mile Slip is under my post in the drag racing section.

Try them on the track.

Fortunately, temperature-wise, I reside in San Diego. The 1LE is predominantly a track car. That said I have used GY SC3 on the 20” wheels, 3Rs once. Now have a set of OE 19” for the 3Rs as they are much less expensive than the 20s. The best trait of either tire is consistency. When they get really warm, they gradually let go, awesome for trail braking. The 3Rs behave the same, only at a higher threshold. Yes they both tramline like crazy when cold(meaning in the 50s). Back before I trailered the car I drove to Willow Springs, left the house at 3:45AM to make the drivers meeting. Didn’t know the dash displays a warning message about icing plus an audible tone to draw attention. It was 21 degrees when I filled the gas tank but Id been driving close to 3 hours. Ran the track day with no issues. Had the car been at rest overnight I would have had different thoughts. I wouldn’t run anything else on this car. I usually get 3 track days out of the SC3, run the 3Rs two sessions midday. I just ran the cars’ 22nd track day—you do the math with 12,000 miles on the odometer.

I loved the SC3's but only when it's warm and dry. Light rain was fine, but I wouldn't push the car in it. When dry and warm they hook up incredibly well. I got over 12,500 out of my first set as I daily my car when it's nice out. Just replaced with Continental ECS and love them so far. Very quite and smooth ride compared to the SC3's, but those road nice too IMO, but had a lot more road noise. I've driven the ECS in only very light rain so can't speak to how well they will perform in the wet yet, but from all accounts they are great in wet conditions which is why I bought them. Tired of all the BS forecasts in New England. One minute its supposed to be sunny and 80 then it's scattered thunderstorms the next.

I took them off my car when near new, and installed all seasons (DWS 06+) and haven’t looked back. I didn’t need track day tires on a car I drive “regularly”

Then why did you buy a 1le?

SC3 is perfect for California. Probably the best triple threat tire - Autocross, Track, Daily. It was literally designed for our cars. I dabbled in Falken and Michelin but I am sticking with the Goodyears.

I would say that applies to summer tires in general.

I can't understand why all-season tires aren't offered as a choice; most people will be safer and happier with them, and there are many high performance all-season tires to choose from.

I replaced the summer tires on my 2010 SS and I plan to do the same with my 2023 ZL1.

I have 14,000 miles on mine, looking to replace. Live in NorCal and have driven in snow (in Tahoe, got caught - was sunny during lunch, came out and it was snowing. That was scary but made it over the summit!)

I've driven in rain at about 37 degrees at night - scary but I was careful and put traction control to snow and I watch my tire temps.

It took about 30 miles to get from 'cold' to 'normal' that night.

In pretty heavy rain I drive around 55 mph. I think I've definitely done things I should not have with these tires but made it through. I don't recommend doing what I've done tho! lol

Two things I'll say here:

1) The F1 SC3 is a great track tire with great dry grip and awesome tread durability. I've run them for 3 seasons and 20+ track days and now will be getting a new set because despite tread still being left, grip has noticeably decreased.

2) Those of you who bought a 1LE have really have no right to complain about the SC3 tires for DD use or having a tire option at purchase.
Yah, I know the 1LE versions of the Camaro look the best (or at least the meanest). But at the end of the day, this is a track package car that has things added to it to optimize for track use, not DD. You can't make use of the extra coolers and suspension changes when driving on the street, so if you really wanted the cosmetic changes or the mag-ride, you could have done that to a non-1LE SS.

To be sure, some of the problems are owner related like driving in cold temps, etc. But others reported tread & sidewall cracking and the worse- sidewall bubbles. Going back to 2012, same issues today.
What was/is your experience with this tire that comes standard on SS models ?
I have a non 1LE and I put Eagle F1 SC3's on mine. I have no complaints, they are solid at the drag strip and on street, and are fine in rain as long as you aren't stupid. Do not want to use them below 40 degrees F. I have vredestein wintrac pro tires for the back below 40 degrees F.

Note: SC3R's are track and strip use primarily or dry warm weather, you don't want to drive them in rain let alone below 60 degrees F

Zl1 non 1LE and ZL1 1LEs have the same coolers they don't have anything extra between the two as far as cooling goes.
