For a stock car you should stay with the stock equipment. But FYI you aren’t making 1K WHP with the stock paper air filter…and if you do you just left a crap load of power on the table.

A regularly rinsed and lightly oiled K&N cone here, but I'm not completely convinced it needs oil.

No oiled filters for me. I've had my share of engineers tell me to avoid them.
That oil doesn't stay on the filter and will get into the MAF and engine. No thanks. The power gain is negligible(if any) compared to the cost and pita of the maintenance anyway. |

I wonder how many, of those who have commented, have done ANY testing, like Z' has... At least he's done SOME sort of testing to back-up his assertions.

The way I see it is if a person wants to run an aftermarket CAI or the OEM one then that’s their choice!

I'm considering that intake. I see you have a catch can, which is one of my questions. Where do you put the PCV fitting that would normally plumb into the intake elbow (assuming you don't want to drill the carbon fiber)?

I've been running RotoFab CAIs since 2010 starting with my NA G8GT, then with a Magnuson SC. I've run them on my 2015 SS, 2016 SS NA and SC and once again on my 2022 SC Lt1 Camaro. I've never had any failures or dirt filtrate thru these dry filters. Not sure where all this BS about aftermarket filtering causing engine issues. Maybe if you live on a dirt road and never clean the filter out. Don't believe everything you read on the internet, plenty of bad information out there. Its up to the owner to take care of their vehicle including replacing the stock filter or cleaning the aftermarket filter if that's what you are running. Failures are generally due to the owner not doing proper maintenance.
