Kind of a big change or rather a switch out... I'm swapping out my Corsa Xtreme NPP Axle backs with the Stainless Works Legend series axle backs. I'm doing this because honestly, I never really got around to liking the way the Corsa Xtreme's sounded (other than when at WOT!) paired up with my CSP made by Stainless Works 2" long tube headers. My exhaust as is, just sounds to echoey, snappy and tinny for my liking. I've been assured and reassured by several ZL1 owners, they too changed from the Corsa Xtreme's (they had 2" long tubes as well), to the Stainless Works axle backs as well as other axle backs for a better and deeper sounding exhaust. So, I ordered this morning, they shipped today and since I'm in Columbus, they are scheduled to be delivered via FexEd tomorrow! Quick note, Josh at Stainless Works told me that for the next few days, their Stainless works axles backs are on sale and shipping is free. When I ordered this morning they have (4) in stock for immediate delivery ! I'll do my best, with my phone, to record a now vs after swap to show the difference !

To me, the red "swim goggles" from the base Camaros actually look best.
So I swapped them on my 22 ZLE. Can confirm, the rear bumper needs to be removed for the taillight swap and it is a quite annoying job.. :/

Update: Just as promised, FedEx delivered the new Stainless Works Axle back today around noon! I won't have a chance to install them until after this coming week. But, I plan on doing my best to record different audio from the Corsa Xtreme NPP and the new Stainless Works NPP. Now I just have to put the Corsa's on Facebook Market Place !

Id like to get your impressions that you have teh A10, one of my minor gripes is the tranny wants to be in a high enough gear and/or keep RPM in the ~2000 range and the sound there in that range isn't what I'd prefer. I've got a MBRP AB right now, basically the muffler delete and the resonator for drone. It's in a lot of ways quiet nice a system.

So, I do tent to drive in manual shift mode due to what your saying when I'm on the main streets and cruising around, it's kind of fun. In auto shift mode, your right, it does shift through the gears quickly and the RPMs stay low. I do noticed however, when in track mode, "Race" mode, it seems to stay in the gears a bit longer between shifts. But on the freeway, as I'm normally in touring mode anyway. I don't mind the quicker shifting to higher gear. But make no mistake! this mother when I smash the pedal and hit WOT, its almost instant, that it shifts to the proper gear and it F'n RIPS it !

I did get the Stainless Works installed this weekend! I'll take it out this evening weather permitting and try to record some sound! Yesterday we had storms off and on and she's never been in the rain but once (on the way back from the dealer when I bought her) and I'm keeping it that way !!!! HEHE

So getting back to this issue... When I watch videos on YouTube of Dyno pulls for Camaro's like mine, say from RPM, LMP, CSP etc. That have mods too, when they let off, I seldom hear any do the endless snap, crackle and pop as mine does. I'll see if there is any difference between the Corsa XTreme and the new Stainless Works Legend axle back I installed this weekend. But I figure the axle back has nothing to do with it. Haha, that reminds me ! Now I have an gently used Corsa Xtreme NPP axle back I need to off load.

Imo the mufflers you run on the back won't make a big difference in tonal quality if you have catless headers. Need at least some resonators in the X pipe to get rid of the tinny, raspy, hollow sound. I run a Borla resonated X pipe with my Corsa NPP and it sounds good. Without the resonators it was shit. Same thing can be said on my brothers ZL1. Catless headers -> stock suitcase = shit. Catless headers -> resonated X -> stock suit case = Good!!

That being said I do get a few burbles and crackles on decel but it's not anything crazy or else I would tune it out.
