But that same tune would not be optimal if you took it drag racing. So to say it's more functional is not really true because you are changing the vehicle's setup to be better at one or the other. Perhaps it would be true with a mid-9 second or slower car with a good tire, or a little quicker with AWD.

Well, it's easy enough for some to create tunes for the track, strip, digs ... and for the dyno.

Yep. I have a spicy good track tune and one that will get me down the track on a greasy prep if needed. If I was a roll racer, I'd need a third that ramps in power from a certain MPH.
