Ah, thanks raptor5244, this is very useful info I do feel a difference between Tour and Track, but indeed I could imagine it being more marked.

MSRP for my Stingray convertible was $85K. I just configured a Z06 with similar options and the MSRP came out to $133,755. My C8 has the performance exhaust, mag ride shocks, front lift, two-tone GT2 seats with suede inserts. The only thing I would gain is 170 more horses, flat-plane crank, and center exit exhaust tips at a cost difference of $48,755. And of course, that assumes one can buy a Z06 at MSRP.

So the question becomes whether or not the Z06 is worth $40 to $50K more than the Stingray. You're paying a pretty good premium for 170 extra horses and a flat-plane crank. A lot of folks will think it's worth it. For me, I'm not so sure.
Indeed. My post was more of a wishful thinking

The Stingray, as you describe it, would be great, but I wouldn't choose it over the ZL1.

I know, right? This car will probably never reach Europe or the UK anytime soon either. Maybe in a few years...

Honestly, I would agree with you. I definitely prefer the look of the C7. The C8 looks more like an Italian car.

I'm with Camaro fanboy and MakCamaro on this one. The C8 is a great car, but it's practically a cheap(er) Ferrari, especially in its Z06 DOHC screamer flavor. People fawn over its smooth, plain flat plane crank sound and 8k+ rpm as if these were something new.

I prefer the sound, feel, style, price and performance of my (currently supercharged) pushrod engine. This is the reason I buy American cars. The C7 is the last Corvette that looks American. The C8 is a great car but it looks indeed like a Ferrari. If I was in the market for a Corvette (and I may be sometime soon) I would look for a C7, probably a ZO6. That IS a fantastic, great looking (American muscle) car.

They are both awesome cars. I have a 22 ZL1, had a 2018 as well. I have had 7 different Corvettes (C6 and C7). Neighbor let me drive his 22 C8. I would have one in a second if I could find one and the dealers weren't charging huge mark ups. Only complaint on C8 is it has a really bad rear pillar blind spot that makes the Camaros blind spot seem no big deal, and didn't feel as roomy as previous gens.

Would you trade your ZL1 for a C-8??

Was looking at a used 22 with 6K yesterday waiting for oil change. Z51 sounded good removable top had more headroom than my ZL1. It didn’t excite me much at all. I guess the new has worn off and the front end seems comical at times. I nearly bought one but now my opinion has changed completely since buying the ZL1.

I don’t care about status which is what a lot of the cost is imo and better for me to be under the radar.

The we’re trying to get 99K

And the side pods looked cheap like fake aftermarket add ons. And apparently they do come off easily as evidence by the recent Dallas player crash where he was hit in the side.
I wouldn’t have given $80K even if it had been the right color and now it seems underpowered considering the LT4. I don’t think it would do me much more good than my LT1 running around town. The interior was already looking worn and smashed maybe they were fat people …

I think the Dallas crash was a C7 oil leaking from the front so bad analogy

And the rear which I actually like (many don’t) looked plastic like a wide body Fiero.
Wheels were uninspiring. Headlight assemblies are too large and overwhelm the front end.
