Mike's in Poland where is wife is from, we spent about 2 hours yesterday working thru everything in the files we never got a chance to clean up since we raced at the Fest. Did a few logs with him looking at the scanner as I was putting the hammer down plus I had my speaker on my phone turned on so he could here everything going on inside and outside (blower whine) the car. It was fun and I saw how critical it is for these files to be smoot and time it takes to get them right. In the past to make changes to the lowside in tank pump you had to buy credits to increase or decrease pressure, that's not so on the 2022. We had been working on the stabilizing the low side at a certain pressure that Mike wanted it to be at, got that covered now, we had dropped some timing but the car felt a little lazy so we worked a little more timing back in watching for knock, we basically put it back in on the Flex Fuel side so as long as I'm in the E65 range it will add the 5.5 we have built in and as colder weather works its way back in and I have to lower the E content it will continue to lower the timing as it sees WOT. We were seeing IATs in the 80s to upper 90s and MAT from 84 on the first log to 113 at idle down to 98 at Wot on the last log. I'm gonna be honest, I was just a long for the ride with all the tuning involved, its obvious I know just enough to keep myself out of trouble when working on making slight changes after the initial tune is done. We didn't have to do anything on the PI side as he already had it dialed in on when it starts to ramp in at 6000hz on the Maf reading. We are basically running 75 percent DI and 25 percent PI when the Maf sees that 6000 HZ. We are right at 170 kpa on the boost side, 12.5 on the AFR and 23 degrees on the timing which is a couple degrees lower then we were at the Fest, however we are running more boost now so keeping it safe. Just got a text from Stefano at Nickey Performance. Their head and cam Zl1 made about 800 rwhp on pump gas, they added the toohighpsi PI with the Reflex controller and made right at 900 with the same pulley on E85. Now to me that's impressive, they plan to pulley down and see how much power they can make with a little more boost. To all you real tuners like Mike, tuning is really an art that most don't totally understand, you guys really know your shit.

The toohighpsi port injection system/kit is producing very solid and impressive results.

This particular ZL1 is a 1LE A10, the NicKey Stage II head and cam option, Magnuson 2650 boosting at 13lbs on 93 octane e10. We use a Fore triple pump in tank set up for the low side. For reference this car was just under 800rwhp SAE. Just adding the toohipsi system and e75 netted 912hp without changing anything else.

We swapped the blower pulley to a smaller pulley and belt, boosting at 17lbs and made 962rwhp with very conservative spark advance. We just finished this up today and will dial in the street tune and head to the track. Toohighpsi Mike has been communicating with Matt at NicKey in order to get the tune spot on for excellent drivability.

Those are stellar numbers for sure, Matt is a heck of a tuner and making the most of a great addition to the fueling system that usually costs well above
6k to make that kind of power. It will be a very wicked rid for the street and for sure bad ass at the track. Sounds like lots of Nickey rides will get the
toohighpsi port injection system.

We just completed the installation and tune, plus 200 mile drivability testing and logging of the Toohighpsi port injection kit number 2 installation for our shop and we achieved similar results with the same options. The management system integrates flawlessly.

Thx for chiming in, love the feedback from such a great performance shop. Your numbers are impressive and once the first Zl1 you did gets on a preppred track it should run 9.40s.

We didn't install the smaller pulley at the track that day so there is a lot more in it, agreed. Here is Matt explaining the build and the tuning highlights.

Matt thanks for posting this really cool video and going into a little more detail on the graphs and how the PI works. Mike has done some of that so with both of you posting it really helps people understand how it works. Those numbers are pretty stellar and you should see some passes below 9.50s on a prepped track and great temps/DA.

Well it sure is and that was a great Lt2 intake, we went 11.64@119 from a 11.78 so worked well. I had an opportunity to get a good deal on what we are working on now and we just ran 9.86@142 Saturday so she's making some steam and once we add some more timing on the launch we hope to run low 9.70s. We'll see if we can do that.

For those who are following the results of the THPSI port injection systems:

1) The drivability and tunability exceeds that of the big pump big injector set ups.

2) Uncomplicated installation of hardware to include wire harness.

3) Costs less than other options currently available.

4) it works as designed!

Here is a time slip from two identical ZL1 1LE A10s. One is a 2020 and the other a 2019. The ‘20 has the TCM upgrade from Huston House of Power. These are not dedicated drag cars they are multi function Super Cars as both are auto crossed and road raced and run amongst the quickest lap times in their class, with a pulley change and wheel tire change.

Both are full weight and are usually driven to the track. Both had 3/4 tank of gas and no weight reduction other than the Drag Pack with 17” MT Street Rs while the other Softer launch /60 ft has Nitto Drag radials on the stock 19” 1LE wheels. ( much less side wall ) Both have standard spec street alignments and no suspension upgrades other than rear adjustable trailing arms. Both have a full NicKey Stage II performance head and cam kit with fueling upgrades and both have the Toohigh PSI port injection system. As an aside the billet lids seem to run cooler and transfer heat / cool down quicker, not scientific but just seems to be the case.

The DA was 1700 with good track prep at a track not known for being “quick”. Both cars running e75.

I would have went with the port injection but I got my meth injection working great and was running e60 with stock system, but it got cooler so needed more fuel. My wife does not want to mix (it is really easier than I though it would be). and I dont want to be solely dependent on e. With the meth I can still run pump 93 with my boost level not lose a ton of power.

Just a couple weeks before Mikes system was ready I had just bought lt4 pump and injectors. Now I can pull up to the pump and fill up with what ever from pump 93 to full e 85. Around here speedway has full e in the summer months. So for me just getting a great deal on the lt4 stuff and it was sitting on my shelf, it just made sense to try it.

With the lt2 intake I did have to put spacers under it to clear the lt4 pump. Along with the jms booster did not have to go into the tank. Max is around low 5s in this cooler weather and boost is up.

Updates:

We took the Too High PSI equipped ZL1 1LE back to the track.

We changed pulleys went from 90mm to 80mm as we had tuned to this change

The THPSI port injection system worked flawlessly.
