Before I get labeled as a Tesla or Musk hater, though, I admire the man's tenacity, drive and intelligence, plus I also think the car industry as a whole was more than ripe for a gigantic kick in the ass, pardon, disruption, which he successfully achieved. I just don't do extremes and don't like shady business practices either.
If I were in that income bracket, you sure could.

I don't see any Yugo's on the road anymore either, I bet they get attention though when you see one but that doesn't mean a thing in reality does it?
Well your Yugo example is an overkill. It’s not my point.
People do buy sports cars/exotics to get noticed, besides driving experience. And to have an exclusive/rare car to make that neighbour jealous.
The reason why Corvette has eaten Camaro is because GM decided it can do great with just one sports car. Too many C8’s are being sold, too many of them are on the streets and there’s no wow factor to it anymore. And in terms of pure driving experience, I drove a C8 Z51 on track and it was too much civilised and tame, not even comparable to the visceral experience of the ZLE. However the C8 will smoke ZL1 from stoplight in city driving, if that matters to someone.

“C8 will SMOKE a ZL1 stoplight to stoplight? “ Okay I thinks that’s a bit of a stretch..?

Agreed. I drove a Z51 on track as well. I think it is a great car, handles fantastic, nice interior but like you mentioned it is more of a GT car vs. the more visceral ZL1. I think the Z06 flat plane engine gives it the character it is missing but it just comes at a very high price. It is also missing the manual trans for a more engaging driving experience. The E-Ray will be interesting since it should technically capable of putting down some incredible performance stats if you consider AWD and instant torque from the EV drive units.

As it relates to the Camaro, it will be interesting to see where it goes from here. I think we will see some soft of Cadillac EV sedans and then a Chevy EV coupe or sedan will be born.

You're so far off on many points it's not worth replying ot them all but I will reply to one, GM is not killing the Camaro because it's fine with one sports car, it's killing it because sales are awful, the C8 is the exact opposite, demand is sky high.

I took the 6 speed manual ZLE over the C8 Stingray.

Easy decision for me.
