That’s what happens when want to be dictators invade their neighbors.

One of my final additions to finishing our basement will be a nice cast iron wood burning stove. Next year I hope to take advantage of the "Inflation Reduction Act" to purchase solar panels and a couple of PowerWalls.

I already own a nifty little EV that gets about 25 miles to a charge and has a top speed of 20 mph. Not bad for a scooter and it gets me around the lake without having to crank up the Camaro.
The end of fossil fuels is the goal. The resulting catastrophes in quality of life and standards of living are secondary and a measure of the Transitions success. Fossil fuels to Electrification will mirror Prosperity to Poverty.

And all to decrease global warming by like 0.4C in 100 years. Yeah I live on a farm that market will not go EV.

We will soon find out who owns a truck to work and who actually uses their truck for work.

Not a bad idea actually.

5: A HEALTHIER ALTERNATIVE:

Insects are a complete protein! They contain all nine essential amino acids and include important minerals like iron and calcium…not to mention, they can be up to 69% protein depending on how they are prepared.

4: GREAT TASTING:

Over 2 billion people worldwide enjoy insects as part of their diet. They are most commonly eaten in Africa, Asia and South America, often as a delicacy.

3: LESS GHGS:

Traditional livestock farming produces more greenhouse gas emissions worldwide than cars do. Insect farming is a far more efficient way to get our protein fix!

2: SMART LAND UTILISATION:

Traditional meat production uses 70% of the planet’s cultivable land. Rearing insects can be a far more efficient alternative as they can be farmed vertically.

1: SUSTAINABLE PROTEIN:

Insects require just a fraction of the land, water and feed in comparison to traditional livestock, for the same amount of protein. They can also be farmed in virtually any climate or environment!

LOL. As an occasional experiment, sure why not. Next time we have a cicada storm here I may break out my google fu and whip something up, but to replace beef, chicken, pork, fish with bugs. No thanks.

As soon as you can make a grasshopper taste like a ribeye, I'll buy an EV!

Give up your cars and you can't own them. You must rent them from us. Give up your farming, just eat the bugs we give you. Give up your comfort, just let us decide what temperature your house should be. Stalin would approve.

All great reasons why we should just let blue states make those decisions and live the way they want and then let red states do what they want. Just don't make red states pay for the decisions blue states make.

Blue states contribute more tax revenue to the federal government than they receive from it. Red states receive more revenue than they contribute

The red states should be thanking the blue states for subsidizing them.

I am happier in a Red state than a blue state and I grew up in a blue state. The stuff said about insects I know is a joke but if they actually tried that I couldn't imagine the riots that wound happen.

To put states' financial health — and the potential impact on residents of those states — into context, MoneyGeek analyzed and ranked states according to their dependence on the federal government. Rankings account for political affiliation, net benefits individuals and organizations in the state receive, state government revenue from federal sources and GDP per capita.

...

50 Nebraska Red 0.8 $0.93 14.33% $515,235
51 New Jersey Blue 0.0 $0.78 15.43% $2,476,244

Any article that ranks New Jersey as the top state in terms of "financial health" is laughable—even if NJ doesn't "depend" on the federal budget per se, it's broke and its citizens are taxed to death to merely keep the state afloat year after year. Yes, I lived there.

Also, you may not have read the following part of this same article, I'm afraid:
But a correlation between states' economic health and political affiliation may reflect economic factors beyond those explained by political philosophy.

"If red states pay less in taxes than they receive in benefits, that's because they are generally poorer and program rules are progressive — not because they are 'takers' while blue states are 'donors' in any value-laden sense," says Mark Shepard, assistant professor at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).
