Yep and while you're down there you can disconnect some of the hoses to make pulling it out easier on you.

Thank you man! I was about to have a stroke trying to figure out how to get them out. I live in the city and my ramps are at my parents place or I would have tried looking from underneath hahah. Add me to the list of radiator fans shitting the bed, 2016 SS 32,000 miles

12. Remove fan

As always, you may be able to get away with less steps, if you're able to reposition hoses out of the way instead of completely removing them.
Does anyone have a video of the fan replacement? About to tackle mine.
Secondary question, with our systems, am I going to be dumping coolant when I disconnect the hoses, or will I be in good shape as long the car is cold?

No video but it's a pretty simple install. Yes you will be losing some coolant so try to have something ready under there when you pull the hoses. I actually used some vinyl vacuum caps to cap off the barbs that the hoses sit on.

Appreciate it! When topping off the coolant, do our systems need to be burped?

I did mine but after topping off I maybe had to go back twice just to add a little each time and get the levels where they should be.

Here are some step by step pictures if anyone needs them in the future. I ended up removing another hose on the passenger side to make it easier to get the fan in and out, but the process was simple.

Just finished replacing my fan/shroud. Did it less than an hour was not hard at all. The replacement was a GM part from the dealer with the veterans discount was $318.

Remove the air box and the intake hose. And then remove the Upper radiator hose and the smaller hose above it. Both have pinch clamps. Keep in mind, you will lose a quarter of a gallon of coolant. Remove the two bolts holding the fan to the radiator on each side. And then lift up and to the left careful negotiating the lower radiator hose.

Take your time and you will save yourself a lot of downtime and $1000 at Stealership.

Hope this helps.
