Very similar but the turbo is more efficient.

Personally, I'd go turbo. I mean in real life most of this is dictated by aftermarket parts and popularity. Wouldn't be surprised if throw on a supercharger on my LT1 someday. But all else being equal I think turbos are a lot better performance wise.

Crazy that an suv is in the 10’s. I still need to put the dragy in it and see what mine can do with/without racechip. I didn’t get a chance to do it before the dp and mp.
Stock in my M3 competition Xdrive I went 10.9 at the strip. Never took it back after the JB4, stuck to track work. Should be mid to low 10s now.

I'd like to add a Turbocharger to my ZL1-1LE and run both.

Toyota MR2 Spyder with a Honda K24. Once upon a time, it had the stock engine with an off the shelf turbo kit, made 330whp and ran 10.90's. It would lift the front wheels from 45mph brake boost. Good times.

Are you ordering a new Type R? New one isn't quite as full rice and rumored to put down 320 hp stock which means 400 is easily achieved and it's fairly light

Turbo cars may not always as fast on a roadcourse (McLaren exception), but the "hit" makes them fun to drive on the street

I love the new Lotus Emira. Beautiful. Too bad wait time is about 18 months already

No type R for me. Though it seems all my friends decided that was the car to have lol

I wouldn't buy any Lotus with my own money. I have yet to see one that looks like it was built better than what a group of monkeys could do. They don't care about quality at all.

The Emira is reportedly a big step up, try it before you knock it

That may be. Some factory changes and new ownership might make them worth looking at.

Turbos win by design. They are a lot more efficient than superchargers which rely on a belt for boost.

I vote Now.

When does the torque hit? Now? Later?

I thought that car had a supercharger not a turbo.

The turbo setup is always more complicated, but if done right will pay off big, most guys go to big on the turbos, In a ZL1 case a 2650R and cam should be more than enough. On my chevelle LQ4, a all out NA 550 hp would cost 10k (LT4 could double)in parts, and I have the motor all ready, supercharger 8k plus parts, I have 95% of my parts and have about $4500 in it all another 1K fuel setup, and were talking 500 hp up to 1000 hp at the push of a button. Turbo hp can't be beat !

Is it more complicated? Blowers are heavy and have parasitic losses. Imagine an LT4 with medium size turbo that spools fast (2500 rpm and up) without running out power on top end. 800 rwhp easy and reliable

In terms of power potential, there isn't much of an argument. BMW is squeezing 520 rwhp (dyno, not claimed) out of a 3.0 L motor. Most ZL1s don't put down much more (560 on average) with DOUBLE the displacement (granted 24 psi vs 9 psi). McLaren gets 750 rwhp out of a 4.0 L. Quite a few Audi guys get 600+ out of their 2.5L (modded)

Turbo lag isn't the argument it once was, lag is there at lower rpm, but not terrible. Supercharger generates a very linear power curve but also a little boring? Better gas mileage when you're cruising is another advantage.

Please no EV stuff, we know a Plaid will do x in a roll on
The fastest in the world like top fuel dragsters are supercharged

I however prefer turbos, as they're much more efficient and easy to make big power.
I also typically prefer the turbo power delivery feel, boost per gear, potential... as well for straight line fun and thrills. Turbos are also much more fuel efficient
Superchargers power delivery is more linear what many may consider and "boring". Superchargers essentially have no lag but are prone to heat soak; especially an issue with roots type.
There's also prochargers which deliver power "up-top".

Looking at the Dragy leader boards, cars pulling 60-130mph and 100-150mph in 1-2 sec and still pulling 1G or more at 150 mph+ are mostly turbo cars.

Not the most technical answer but my opinion after owning all types of modded cars and bikes.
