Indianapolis already did this years ago with Iroc's or something, as I was passing through there were several on a day sting op. Multiple solid colors with dark tint. Totally unrecognizable as the lights were behind the dark tint.

GSP has been using 5.7 hemi for many years. They put the cheapest fuel they can find in them. I don't think that will work with lt1.

I dont know.. I have the Recaros... but I cant imagine some of those big mook troopers with all the gear on their belt and body armor riding in these Camaros.
And at 5'8" I already get in and out carefully.
Connecticut in the 80s had Mustang GTs and Buick Grand Nationals.
Its cool and all. But never saw a speeder try to outrun the cops and get away because they could outrun them.
The cops will prefer comfort over cool after a few hours in the saddle.

I don't think there will be a lot of lt1's in GSP and the people put in them will be their best driver's.

Seriously, It would be interesting to see a squad of specially trained high performance biker cops to take down speeding bikes, illegal ATV's, and street racers.
Just what we need, troopers on donorcycles driving triple digit speeds. Like the shortage of LEOs isn’t bad enough already.

You haven’t been paying attention then. On the few occasions I’ve decided to jackrabbit it was pretty easy.

No offense to LEOs, I appreciate what they do, but as a group their driving and shooting skills are pretty pathetic.

The comments there are somewhat disheartening, not sure what these people want, should the police use Priuses to chase criminals? Or just let them get away?
Priuses would be a good start, efficient, reliable, non-polluting. If you're going to be driving around or idling most of the day, a prius is probably the ideal car for the average police officer.

Although I think most LEOs would be better suited to a Prius than a Camaro, I have to take issue with the 'non-polluting' comment. Yeah, no pollutants out the non-existent tailpipe, but what about the toxic waste from the rare earth minerals that went into the battery? What are you going to do with the old batteries when they no longer function? How about the fact that the vast majority of electricity in this country is generated by coal fired power plants?

Currently all EV's in this country primarily run on coal, which is much worse for the environment than gas. Less than 20% of total electric generation comes from wind, hydro or solar. Given our 24/7/365 base load needs renewables will never exceed 50% of total generation. Don't trust me, take a look at how big the swings in power consumption are over a 24 hour period. Then look at how much storage capacity we have and how much it costs.

I think South Carolina had Camaros back in the 80s and 90s.

Fair comments, still much better for them to run Priuses and compact cars than SUVs everywhere. Didn't bring up EVs, just hybrids.

I wouldn't mind ZL1 hybrid - same engine but add front electric engine and use it in traffic/city driving... And combine on highway/track
