I'm 43, and even I was worried about the ZL1 giving me that 'mid life crisis' vibe.

I love the styling of the C8, in fact it's the primary reason why I want one.

I think I'm leaning towards installing a Magnuson 2650 on my ZL1 for 700-750hp to the wheels and just rocking with that. ....unless of course down the road I can score a Z06. I think I would definitely pay the markup (up to $150-$160k) on the Z06 so who knows. Maybe I'll get lucky.

After seeing the C8 Z06, I would always feeling like I would be settling with the C8 Stingray. Same thing happened when I had the Camaro SS, I liked it but always longed for the ZL1.

Please don't pay $150k+ for that Z06 as you will be driving up the cost for the rest of us that need it to be $90k.

Going to be VERY difficult not to pay some ADM on the Z06 for the first year or two. With global supply chain shortages the way they are right now limiting production of all vehicles, ADM is almost certainly assured. We're going to place our order in a few more weeks when order banks open up so we'll see how much we end up having to pay over when it arrives.

Can't blame dealers for selling Z06s above MSRP. You're going to have a low production, high demand car. This is one of the reasons I have no interest in the Z06 right now. The other reason is the motor. I know lots of folks are lusting over a high revving, flat plane crank engine but I'm going to sit on the fence for awhile until we have a little history on reliability. Knowing the issues Ford had with their FPC doesn't give me confidence GM won't have issues with their version. Say what you want about GM's 16 valve push rod small blocks, but they've been pretty darn reliable over the years.

No, the GT500 is not a FPC. Same size engine as GT350 but a CPC.

Paying a big markup on any GM product is throwing your money away, most will not appreciate over time (possible exception of C7 ZR1)

Savagegeese says C7 handles better anyway (25 minutes in), I think I'd just get a C7Z until the C8Z is released and prices drop

I just want to know where I can go test drive all 3!?!

I've got a deposit in to order a car with one of the larger Chevy dealers on the east coast and he has... 1 Camaro (V6 convertible) and 1 C8 Corvette (used, 2LT convertible) in stock.

Very true. Haters won't be stopped...you just have to do what makes you happy, and not worry about how others perceive you. I'm sure when I'm in the zl1, people will think i'm a redneck maga guy, and when I'm in the Tesla, people will think i'm a liberal tree hugger...just can't worry about it

Probably impossible in my region of the country unless you know private owners willing to let you drive their car. My neighbor has a C8 and we are going to swap cars for a drive when it finally gets warm here.

So the dealer called me today and I went to see one up close. He called me before they even put it on the website. I have first dibs on any C8 they get. They are not budging on the Z06 and I've been trying to cut the waiting line like the bonafide asshole that I am. hahahahaha I offered as much as $160k.

I got to spend a lot of time in the car but they didn't let me drive it. These are my impressions.

1) The ergonomics are actually perfect for me. The length to the pedals and the length to the steering wheel actually fit my dimensions perfectly. I brought my track helmet with me and there was plenty of head clearance.

2) Visibility was fantastic. However, I don't like not being able to see the entire hood. You are definitely sitting in the car Go-Kart style.

3) Interior quality was excellent.

4) Z51 specs look decent. I would still invest $5G on some Coilover racing suspension and another $5G on some wheels that would allow me to run 295 in the front and 325-345 in the rear. So figure another $10G on top of the price.

5) The front of the car was high off of the ground so driveway clearance would be a non-issue. That's a plus and I'd probably leave it that way for the track.

I will still have to reserve final judgement for a test ride and that trip to the Corvette Museum is knocking at the door so I can get some track laps.

This particular dealer is selling new orders for MSRP with a 12-18 month wait. However, they are marking up used inventory. This low mileage (1,000 miles) was about $25k markup. They were asking $115k and they paid $105k for the car. I would pay markup on the Z06 but won't move on this one (2LT fully loaded with Z51).
