Wrong on your part. Check the 1/4 mile fast list, category (2) BONE STOCK 2016+ CAMARO SS LT-1 A8: (which is now basically LT-1 powered automatic) and you'll see that the quickest times are still held by A8-equipped SS cars. Only a single A10 SS has made it into the top ten, and that trans is now in it's 4th model year for the SS, so there's been plenty of opportunity to exert it's advantage if it really had been faster than the A8. While theory says that the A10 should have a slight edge over the A8, in the real world, it has not happened. Just in case by 'slower' you meant top speed, that would be wrong too. Both cars have the same exact overall gear ratio for top speed of 2.77:1, A8 uses 6th gear and A10 uses 7th gear for top end in a stock SS.

I'll chime in. Are there significant differences from 2016 to 2022? A8 to A10 automatic trans and styling changes to front and rear end and updated infotainment in 2019. Are these changes significant? I would say no, not really.
I personally much prefer the front end from 2016 to 2018. 2019 front end was just bad. 2020 and on was better but still pretty bad. I do like the 2019 and newer rear facia and tail lights however but it is a less significant change. As for the A8, yes it has had problems but the fluid change TSB has solved most of this. In my 2017, the A8 has been one of the best performing, fastest shifting transmissions I have ever had in a car. The manual TR6060 is a fabulous transmission. Can't go wrong with either and both manuals and autos have positive and negatives. I have a manual TR6060 in my Corvette GS and it is great. I would recommend to get a 2SS if you can. Heated steering wheel, heated and cooled seats and the extra engine and trans coolers are worth the price. Magnetic ride is also good but does add cost and potential higher repair costs later on. The magnetic shocks have a habit of starting to leak oil after hitting 50K miles (this is not exclusive to the Camaro and happens on many GM vehicles with magnetic ride). The conventional suspension and shocks are spectacular also and is what is in my car. Someone can correct me but on the SS and 2SS trims, I think you get the better instrument cluster also. I think the LT1 trims only come with a basic cluster. |

Have they removed some standard equipment from the 2SS trim? For example, I can not find ventilated/heated seats and heated steering wheel as standard equipment on the website any longer.

When i test drove a10 and m6 back to back, the manual definitely felt a lot faster abd torquier. The automatic felt like it lacks low end torque and feels like it shifts way too early. Could be a placebo but it just felt like the manual climbed speeds faster and was a lot torquier.

From what I have read manufacturers may not specifically decontent the car. But if they don't tell you it has a feature, you will probably never have it. The buttons may be there and never do a thing. |

I believe these features are not being delivered at present... HOWEVER, word is that the wiring/harnesses are included and dealerships will be able to retrofit the control modules 6-12 months down the road. There was a thread about this a while back when the news first broke.

One of my old manual cars supposedly had a remote start system installed. I have never used it, but you can install an aftermarket kit if you want. You just have to leave the car in neutral when you park it, but that's not the safest thing to do. TR-6060 is pretty solid. The only thing is that it could be a little clunky to shift from 1st to 2nd in cold, which some trans fluid can help a bit. There is also the skip shift/CAGS, but that's easily disabled with a $20 defeat device. Quote:
Having a stick shift can be a good deterrent for amateur thieves, however. This is still such a classic example of manual trans theft fail. https://youtu.be/b04YW3r5xhg Quote:
I haven't actually driven an A10, so yeah, I don't know how it feels subjectively.

True, but there are some no-lift-shift wizards out there who can bang out impressive ~250-300 ms shifts. In general, however, of course nobody can match a computer.
