The Camaro is down to not even 22k cars for 2021. It's one of the worst selling Chevrolet vehicles, even behind Bolt EV and Spark. No matter if nobody wants to buy the car or it's more a production problem: You have to be a fool to believe anything Lethal is currently hyping up which includes two completely new motors, new magnetic Ride system, a minor facelift and all of that just for one model year for a pretty much dead car.

Meanwhile the Corvette is pretty much sold out, so every LT2 they can procude would easily be sold for much higher profit in every C8 they can put it into.

As a comparison Ford delivered 52k Mustangs and Dodge 54k Challengers in 2021. We can expect that with S650 launching in early 2023 it would easily outsell anything Camaro could do to boost the sales.

I think what bigger magazines reported are true, their sources state we might get another sticket package with yellow paint as a final edition and that's it. This fits totally what Chevy is doing for years with the Camaro.

Precisely, so the current banter is what the heck will be available post 2023/2024 from GM. It looks like you would need to go buy a C8 or something used if you want a GM enthusiast product.

Dodge is talking the same stuff for 2024 with their eMuscle cars. Hellcats end of sale next year. Ford is already out of the picture as far as I am concerned. The only decent Mustang is the GT500 and it is way overpriced.

The most exciting enthusiast car on the horizon outside the C8 Z06 is the Nissan Z with a 400hp twin turbo and a manual trans. It has literally going from being one of the best times for enthusiast cars to one of the worst. Maybe there will be exciting EVs at some point but not for years until battery production ramps up and costs come down from selling EV Blazers, Equinox and Silverados. Furthermore, manufacturers have some proving to do with their first generation EVs.

This train of thought is why I went and bought a ZL1 at MSRP.

I had a chance to take the V6 1LE out recently. The car makes me smile, is totally paid for, and is just super sharp out on the streets. If that's the last 6th gen Camaro I'll ever own, I'd be totally fine keeping it.

That being said, I've left an opening for an upgrade if they did something special for the last couple of years of the Camaro. If its a new engine for the SS, or an upgraded ZL1, or something substantive, I would totally be in. But, like many of you, I'm skeptical that GM will make that type of investment in a car they've largely ignored/abandoned for years now.

If, on the other hand, the biggest improvement to the car as it drives into the sunset is an appearance package or something else equally lame, then I'm out.

I still need to add a 1st Gen Camaro to the garage, as well as a nice 3rd gen specimen, so I'll focus on finding those, maybe a 6th gen ZL1 if the price is right.

Either way, between the lack of dealer incentives and limited production run on the new Camaros, and with the strong prices for vintage cars at Mecum during the first few days , it's clearly a seller's market in both markets and I'm in no rush to make a move.

Interesting, I will need to check that out.

Two reasons Camaro sales have been so low and there WILL NEVER be a Gen 7 , and regrettably so....

#1 The cold fart-can obnoxious start-up instead of the deep rumble it should have, like the gen 5 had.
#2 The mushy squishy unresponsive throttle

*Exhaust Sound and throttle response the two most primal/desirable interfaces of the driving experience.....both of those are less desirable than what the gen 5 had---you know its true.

How can it be the worse selling car if you can't find any on the lot? The simple answer is that they have stopped producing it and are moving away from big engines and they are starting with the lowest seller. The chip shortage has been affecting the Camaro more than any other, because GM is prioritizing the higher selling cars such as the Silverado or Equinox. I have been looking for a new red 2SS 1LE manual for a year now and cannot find the one I want. Most 1LE are in transit on the Chevy page and automatics. There are none on the dealers' lot. Those that you can find, are ridiculously marked up and dealers are refusing to negotiate to a fair price. If you can afford it and don't care about the high price, then great. I just refuse to pay more than what the car is worth and if I can get a discount, even better. The large majority of people in the market are probably like me.

Im gonna start by saying I’m like you however I strongly disagree that the large majority of people in the market are like us. If they were we wouldn’t be getting offered ridiculously high trade in values and the cars wouldn’t be selling for as much as they have been.
