The dive planes are plastic and not wrapped…just coated with ceramic coat. The splitter is wrapped with matte stek ppf. The factory vinyl was removed and the stek black matte
Ppf was installed. The matte ppf on the black mirrors, splitter and rear diffuser looks awesome.

I guess it depends on which precut template you get. There might be different ones out there. When I first bought my car I purchased the ppf package thru the dealership. Didn't know it was precut. Mine looked horrible as I could see the cut lines. Certain angles and lighting I could see the cut lines very prominently. I had it rewrapped custom cut one piece. Couldn't stand seeing the cut lines. I didn't want them to remove the bumper so I removed the canards and the side fins of the front splitter so that they have an easier time laying and cutting the ppf. The splitter had to be cut separately though. I also had the side skirts and the panel in front of the rear wheels done too. After the custom cut one piece PPF was done, i cant even tell there is PPF on the bumper. My shop did a great job.

Totally agree!

Also OP, may be worth considering rock guards as well. not really needed as much with PPF, but probably wouldn't hurt.

Was going to get the rock guards. In my line of business I cant drive anything but one of my rigs so any sort of sports car will never be a DD unfortunately…

Where in MI are you? Im in Grand Rapids. I had the front bumper, headlights, and fenders wrapped. The front bumper was a 2 piece precut and the fenders were bulk cut and edges wrapped without removing any body panels.

Im in MI.

Im getting it paint corrected and then wrapped. Not entirely sure if im doing the entire car or just the major leading edges/hood etc.

With that said im most likely going with a shop that has been doing it for 20yrs. Ive seen their work and lots of info about them on other boards etc. AFAIK they only do PPF. No tinting or anything else. They said they also only do pre cut expel kits. They had a referral for a shop on the other side of town that will do custom wraps/bumper off etc. (they do mostly exotics) Im sure that comes with a price. Don’t get me wrong, I want to protect the car BUT for me I dont think its the right car to pay potentially lambo wrapping prices. My main question is on the ZLE is it really noticeable or weird looking on the front fascia? Im sure some of the edges cant be wrapped due to the nature of the design.
Any pics/info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

They only thing I had added to mine after a year was a little bit xtra behind the doors.

How does ceramic help dive planes, will it make cleaning easier? Also, new ZLE splitter blade from dealer is $175 and easy to replace. How much did it cost to wrap that?

My splitter gets peppered by gravel at track but still black where it gets hit, and peppered PPF shows dings more against black I think. I have Xpel on front end to protect my paint, but left black parts alone except mirrors and those have a few bad PPF dings.

I was kind of on the same page about the plastic ZL1 splitter. I was going to just get an extra set of dive planes and splitter to put on at some point if I wanted to.

My '21 ZL1 has Xpel PPF on the entire front clip, hood, fenders, mirrors, and also has the rear edge of the door, finger recess of the door handle, and in front and behind of the rear tires. The hood is wrapped around the edge, and parts around the fender have the edges wrapped, like where the edge is exposed and at parts of the wheel well. At the body seams the PPF comes within a couple of mm of the seam, so it's pretty well protected, and not noticeable. If you know it's there and are close enough, you can see it, but from a few feet away you can't see it.

All the painted surfaces of the front end are PPF'd, including the gloss side vent inserts and the front splitter. The only thing on the front end not PPF'd are the headlights and the grille itself.

I'd post a picture of the front-end but the PPF lines definitely don't show in pics, unless you're extremely close-up.

May I ask where you found the splitter for $175? Most places I've seen are around $600, it's the one piece holding me up from converting the rest of mine.
