My 1SS will be 4 years old in March 2022. Still has the original factory battery. Was wondering how long they are expected to last.
I was thinking of being proactive and getting it replaced this spring. It would be 48-50 months old by then. |

I just replaced my battery, proactively, with a new AGM glass Delco total cost $332.00. $250 for the part and $82 for the labor dealer installed.
The old battery was 4yrs old and I know the life can be anywhere from 3 to 5 years...or longer if you wait till it just dies. According to the research, the AGM's are better than the old batteries they now replace hence the higher cost. |

Just replaced the battery in my 2020 as it was getting weak. Actually wouldn't start the other day. I put a charger on it and it charged to 100% and started but the next day it seemed a little weak and volts were at 15.0. Only 2 years-ish old so seems a little early to fail. My local Sams has a 48AGM for $170 but had none in stock. I went with a Durastart from Autozone for $210.

Replaced mine with the ACDelco AGM battery from Amazon, $182 plus tax. Installed it myself. Made a big difference (I've had the car over 5 years). Starts right up.

Replacement battery for the EU and the UK
I am copying this from my post on another thread, because I suppose several other people in the EU and the UK are looking or will start looking for a replacement battery. Considering that the OEM (ACDelco 48AGM Professional Automotive AGM BCI Group 48 Battery - PN 88864541) is not available in Europe and the UK, the following ones can be used instead:
VARTA SILVER dynamic Starter Battery (12V 70Ah 760A B13 AGM Battery) https://m.autodoc.co.uk/varta/7623151 EXIDE Start-Stop Starter Battery (12V 70Ah 760A B13 AGM Battery) https://m.autodoc.co.uk/exide/1128937 CENTRA Start-Stop Starter Battery (12V 70Ah 760A B13 AGM Battery) https://m.autodoc.co.uk/centra/7807413 It seems that the EXIDE one has very good reviews. All the above can be found on eBay as well at very competitive prices.

You could lose 40# or so by changing to an Antigravity.

If I are getting a new battery I'd buy the best deep cycle car stereo battery available. I used to swear by XSPower but them seem out of stock everywhere (it's been 3-4 years for me since I bought one). Kinitek, Shuriken and Stinger are all good brands too.I've always been a fan of get the biggest battery you can fit in your stock location with the appropriate terminal locations and do a Big 3. It's cheap and easy and can't hurt.
