Reading comprehension, my dude. And try decaffeinated... may help you avoid your emotions getting the better of you.

I do know that the Roto-Fab intake made a noticeable difference in throttle response after installing it and the engine runs better too than before with the stock intake. I had a Summit Racing panel filter which looks like a K&N in the stock airbox that didn’t seem to be an improvement, which I still have with the air box, before going to the RF. I was going to take out the snow blocker plate but decided it would be a pain since installing the RF. I’m not bashing anyone about these aftermarket CAIs but if companies like Vengeance, Jannety, ADM, Katech and others sell and use them in their builds then they must be a good quality product that gives the best results. I realize all the info about the dyno runs with the hood open and closed and everything else presented in this thread but I do know the RF made a difference with my ZL1 that I could feel in my butt dyno.

Are you kidding the cone filter would be pulling air from everywhere vs. a small channel by the head light. The extra air would create more velocity and that gives you your lower air temperature. Choked down created stagnet hot air you sir are back asswards.

Hood open 1st pic.

Hood closed 2nd pic.

Where is all this extra air your speaking of? Notice the 4 degree difference in MAT temps btw with hood closed.

Its horseshit, which is why this vapoware intake wasn't sold and no one else is making similar.

Thats not what he said... I'm not the one with reading comprehension issues.

Rotofab and hood down made a few less horsepower and torque at the wheels SAE than stock. We raised the hood back up and re-pulled it and we were back to 10+hp gain over stock and ~10tq SAE. Drop the hood and it was down ~5p and ~!0tq from stock "(heat soak likely the culprit for the worsening numbers)."

Worsening numbers.......

Sitting on a dyno with an open top Air filter and actually moving at 60MPH are 2 totally different scenarios. Regardless, pretty much ALL builders say either the rotofab or similar designs make the most power over others.

I'm not a rotofab fanboy, but i do have data that clearly shows there's no gain in airflow with the hood up/completely removed, at least not on the big gulp.

When Vararam tests on the dyno all get a chance to cool down eqaully and his product went last. Also he shoots certain spots with a thermal gun to make sure they test at same temp before a pull is done.

Wrong, but ok. Cheers. It would be a gradual reduction, not a full curve drop with the hood being open vs closed. I've seen it, I dont need you to, but keep running that chomper lol. Keyboard grrr

If Hennessey says it does, then it does, and they do.

The data is in the pics. Gradual reduction of what ??? Airflow? Tell me how that “gradually” changes. I’m not running anything, anyone that knows me knows I go by data and simply not by blind theories. I too had this same exact question, which is why it was tested by several people. I’ve even had a guy with his hood completely off test it (driving) The only changes were IATS which at that were minor.

If it was IAT related, it would be a gradual reduction in power not airflow, from heat soak on repeated pulls and IAT impact. We measured IATs too and they were not much different. The entire curve went up/down when we tested, repeatable over and over, with the hood position. I'll find the video and show you.
