As promised. Temperature rise data for several parts using a Klein Tools Infrared Temperature Scanner in Avg mode (two red dots to measure and averages between them).

82 Degrees Farenheit Ambient Temps, Hood down during idling until measurement, cold vs 5 min idle temps vs 10 min idle temps.

More to come once he runs the same tests with 2" longtubes and Jet Hot 1300 coating. He will be replicating the same measurements. Note, he measured the secondary cat as its in the position where the GESI cats for the longtubes will be.

Couple of questions for you that run coated headers at the track
Since you're pushing more heat through the exhaust, 1) do the cats fail earlier? 2) does the fascia or reflectors melt from the extra heat out the back?

I’ve ran them on numerous performance vehicles of different makes. Never had any cat failing issues and never burned or melted a fascia or body panel. The one and only negative is that you’ll pay more for your headers to get them coated. But that’s not really a negative. It’s worth the extra cost.
