Recall Zeta and Zeta II were the foundation for some very big cars. The PPV or Statesman in Australia were HUGE sedans. They also had a Buick version in China and there was a Cadillac sedan program just prior to the XTS that was killed very quickly after it was approved. Even the SS/Commodore was not petite.

The MT and R&T visuals give a good side by side comparison between the Alpha Camaro and S550 Mustang.
The R&T image shows their belt line about the same height. Camaro roof and seating position is lower. We've seen review after review criticizing the Camaro for its visibility and the Mustang's high seating position. You sit in a Camaro. You sit "on top of a stack of phonebooks" in the Mustang My experience is that the high beltline vs seating position makes an intimidating first impression. It throws your perception of the surroundings off. Your senses adjust to it quickly but its a hard sell to a passive buyer. Quote:

Scott had later added the Tranformers decals and badging to complete the car. Thor

motor Trend and R & T always have slower test times. That is really slow 0-60 for the Mustang. The Camaro is slower as well. Other test have 0-60 in 3.9 and 1/4 mile 11.9 for the 6th gen Camaro SS |

Corvette is also a reason why Camaro sales down, most Chevy die hard buyers go C8 Corvette crazy.

I haven't been following too close since Chevy abandoned the Camaro in 2020. I didn't see any A10s in the fast-list either. My experience is that the SS is a low 12s car. 12.1-12.3 is typical. FYI - that R&T test report is from 2016. I posted it because it shows the Camaro and Mustang to scale on grid. You can see the physical differences easily.

Saw a few articles the SS gets 3.9 to 4.0 0-60. Non pro drivers also get 11.9 on the drag strip I've seen running stock except maybe the CAI. Also, I've seen youtubers, non pro drivers get 4.2 seconds on the SS. I saw one LT1 get 4.0 but then again LT1 is lighter. This test they got just over 12, but they ran 3.9 according to their specs and the Mustang was slower. This is 2016 btw. What's funny is a lot of the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for the 2018 and newer Mustang GT are actually SLOWER than the 2015-2017 Mustang a lot of times. Not far off numbers than the 2012 Mustang GT. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...mparison-test/ That Mustang they tested does the quarter mile slower than my 2012 is rated at. This test they got 3.9 seconds, but did the quarter mile a bit slower. I would suspect bone stock most of us would hit 4.2 on here. I don't go to the strip and practice. No way I'd hit 3.9 and don't expect to because I'm not a pro. |

The link below shows that the average gen6 SS is a 12.1 sec 1/4 mile car. I could easily run 12.2 to 12.3 as an inexperienced driver https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...9&postcount=49

That's slow if he's using drag radials and has the lighter LT1. When we're talking two tenths of a second that's so close there is just so many factors in play. I did see a perfomance package Mustang GT hit 3.9 on one test as well, but that's it. Even the Mach 1 I'm seeing does it over 4 seconds, and is slightly slower than our much cheaper Camaros ROFL!!!

So, a lot of the conversation, not all but a lot, here seems to lean in on the lack of advertising being a huge contributing factor in Camaro sales faultering vs Mustang and Challenger numbers. Now, I don't really watch TVs so likely I'm just out of the loop but I don't really recall any memorable ads for Challenger or Mustang in the last decade, if not longer. Can someone post the most recent ones? I've heard the formerly FCA ad team was pretty good at what they did.
