CEL after tune?! :(

Ok guys, I’m back again to bother y’all, but always grateful for the support and answers. As stated before, I have a 2021 LT1 with kooks 1 7/8 with cats (not green cats) and mbrp cat back race exhaust. Rotofab intake, LT5 95mm ported TB, LT2 intake manifold also ported, E85 kit and 160 thermostat. After a few days away from her, I finally got her back tuned from TuneTime performance here in NJ. Let me start by saying she sounds, drives, and feels absolutely amazing! And fast! ... however 😩😢, TuneTime is about 1.5 hour from home, on the way home the check engine light went on 😡😡. I will call tomorrow morning, but wanted y’all’s input. Is it something they did wrong with the tune? I’ve attached the error codes I’m getting. Attached is also the dyno sheet. Dark blue is stock. Next is 93 tune, next is E85. With all my mods on E85 it’s 427rwhp, which seems very low to me also. The guy explained its cus it’s a mustang dyno, but still feel it should be higher? I could be wrong. He also said I was at about E60... anyway, my main concern now is the check engine light. I’ll call tomorrow. Any ideas with what I should say? That will hint I know what I’m talking about? Lol ... the drive there is pretty inconvenient

P0430 and p0420 is catalytic converter codes. If you don't have cat converters then have that tune shop delete them from the ecu permanently. Easy fix.

Not sure how many times I have to post this, but once again:

If you have a ‘17-up, do yourself a huge favor and turn all of your cat-related codes (P0420, P0430, etc) to “No Error Reported” *before* you install headers, high flow cats, no cats, etc. Getting rid of permanent codes is a nightmare otherwise.

As noted, P0420 and P0430 are cat codes. You should have all cat related codes turned off, as well as cat protection. You should also have all secondary O2 sensor codes turned off. Looking at your numbers, you went from 379 HP stock to 427 with your mods on E60. 48 HP is a respectable gain. Don't get to hung up on numbers. Like it's been said a thousand times, different dynos read differently. If your car rips, enjoy it!

Welp...I guess I'm already passed this. So what can I do now? If I take it back to my tuner they can't do anything to correct this? I truly don't want a CEL on at all times. And my car is running perfectly fine.

Is this all something the tuner will take care of? Or should have taken care of while they were tuning my car before I picked it up? I really don't want a CEL on all the time..

Also thanks for the encouragement on the numbers. Was a little bogged down by it.

What's a tech ii? According to them yeah, which seems off to me given to mods.

gm tech 2. i believe there is exclusive licensing involved for their use, as well. either way, those are codes you can clear and remove with hpt, which will also remove the cel.

not to be a debbie downer but i think you're still 20+ whp down from where you should be.

It is an easy fix. Take it back to the tuner. ANY competent shop can fix this.

No, it’s not necessarily. Once you have a permanent code, clearing it does *NOT* make it go away. Can the tuner shut the code off by clicking “No Error Reported” in HPT? Yes, and then when you go for inspection the code will still pop up when the inspection station does the ALDL plug in. If the tuner unchecks the “SES Enable” light, that will also shut off the CEL but will flag your emissions as “Not Ready” at inspection time. The only way to clear a permanent code is to fix the problem and go through all the necessary drive cycles.

So, TLDR, if you have plug in emissions it’s not an easy fix. If they just visually look at your CEL to make sure it’s off, or you don’t have inspections, then it will indeed be an easy fix.

You read waaay more into my post than I said. It is any easy permanent fix by any competent shop, not the code, the issue causing the code.
