I checked mine, just cracking 2600 miles, they are torqued correctly thankfully. Odd thing to happen, thanks for posting so folks check!

Looks like it was torqued at one point. You can see the witness marks left in the tower from the anti rotation feature in the fastener.

New owner. Wondering how to check the torque.

Given the noted anti-rotation feature built into the bolt head, does that mean that you have to check the torque/tighten from the nut end of the connection in the at the top of the fender well?

theres no nuts. they are bolts that screw into the strut

With a torque wrench and socket.

Yes using your torque wrench on the nut is the correct way but, the nuts are captured in the Strut mount so there is no "nut" to turn .

Without getting into the details if you want to ensure the bolt is torqued correctly you would have to loosen and re-tighten it to spec.

If the bolt is somewhat near the proper torque spec then setting a torque wrench to 16ft/lb and checking the bolt should not move the bolt.

Is it possible whoever installed the strut tower brace, loosened that strut bolt and forgot to retighten it? I've never heard of this issue before.

I suspect if 100 people respond with what theirs is tightened to, we'll get 100 different answers due to the method folks are using to check torque, wrench being used, etc.

I installed the brace, have never touched that specific bolt. It has never had any service with anything having anything to do with that bolt either. Must be loose from factory I guess...
