My Z06 supposedly had valve spring issues - we've been making internal combustion engines for 100+ years and GM's vendor is still cheaping out on these?

Actually, this happens more as a technology matures, advances further on the diminishing return curve and there is little else left to optimize for cost reduction. I think the best place to be is right behind the bleeding edge when things mostly work already, but the cheaping out hasn't yet begun.

870 miles on mine. Normal driving and taking it to 35-4000 . Sticker says build date 9/20, but was told actually was 10/2. Car runs like a champ in all respects. We will see. A friends zle built in July, no issues. Same sis freibd is a gm tech. He and dealer looked up my car, no recalls. So gm probably knows now which cars could be affected. Many have said seems to be in first 250 miles or so. Some as little as driving out of the lot with under 30.

the 427 7 liter Z06 had cylinder head valve guide issues. The current valve spring issue is because of a manufacturing process problem , not from a vendor that all of a sudden decides to make a poorly spec'd valve spring cheaper imo.

I had a tech at the chevy dealer tell me that when the tsb came out about the valve spring issue they were told to test each car in that time window of possible valve spring issues and on their lot, they had 4 vehicles fail the test. The cars were taken to the back lot waiting for the repair to be done before being sold or put back on the lot. I know one was a camaro because I almost bought it but my wife didn't like the blue with red hash stripes on the fender. another was a pickup truck not sure about the other two. My luck was I bought mine a week before the tsb came out. I think after buying my new corvette and 4 other new cars from them a phone call would have been nice.

I dont know CHASLT1, I cannot say that . I had a 2015 base M7 stingray with NPP. I have done some of the minor tweaks to my LT1 as I did with my stingray and I am sure its not as fast. I eventually had my C7 dyno tuned with mid pipe, AFE intake, 180 stat, and my own ported/smoothed out TB. The car dyno'd at 430 rear wheel and my best 1/4 mile pass was a 11.78 , 121 mph and thats with a manual trans and a not so good 1.971 60 ft time. The stingray is 300lbs lighter. IMO, this LT1 2021 A10 camaro just is not going to run that quick. I should be able to do a better 60 ft with the A10, but 12.0 should be about it. I also have a 2019 M7 GS corvette. That car is 125 lbs heavier than my 2015 stingray, but has more aggressive gearing in the 7 speed, the GS feels as good if not better than the stingray. I never took the GS down the 1/4 mile

I do agree though that my car anyway... a no optioned 2021 LT1 Other than the A10 trans does feel strong. I have borla s mufflers on it already, a Soler ported 91 mm TB, my own air box mod (not a drastic cut out), have about 40 lbs off of the car and it feels good.
