You bet, not sure if I’m going to do the job myself or not, but I have my father to help out and he’s worked on cars a lot more than I have

Silly question. Just ordered titanium shims. Do these replace the plate on the back of the pad, or are they additional to the backing plate?

Yeah if that is true, it's very impressive and worthwhile.

I had CCB fronts on for a while early last year with and without vented pistons in the ZL1 1LE calipers. Without vented pistons cooked the outer dust seals within a couple of track days. I put stock J57 vented pistons in, and, before I took the CCB fronts off, I ran a few more track days without cooking the dust seals.
I took the CCB fronts off due to my young sons running a lot then, so, I put steel ZL1 rotors back on with stock pads. |

I have since installed the TItanium shims, and the SS 1LE (larger) brake deflectors, and had zero brake issues at ButtonWillow a couple weeks back. I was only out for 10 - 12 minutes, so shorter sessions, but was pleased with how everything worked.
The SS 1LE brake deflectors will scrape if running 18" wheels, and even if 19" wheels, probably not street friendly, mainly for track. Best regards, Dave
