Ughhh... damn I hate to hear this stuff. I'd like to be happy that my job was saved but many of co-worker friends got notified yesterday so it's all bitter sweet.

YES, Coronavirus has effected my employer and those in my IT field. I support IT systems world wide. Exercises have been canceled, so work is canceled. Contracts have slowed down due to uncertainty of work.

If I travel worldwide I must quarantine for two-weeks prior to travel and two-weeks post travel regardless of infection. My organization has spent thousands on face covering, hand sanitizer, etc.

I've received three COVID-19 tests; one each month starting in August. The November test is coming soon. All my nasal swab tests returned negative - thank God.

I know a woman in real-estate who tested positive. She lost her job and has no money to help her elderly parents who both tested positive. Money for food and medicine is gone. I send her money.

Didn't they at the start of this say that you can test negative and still have the virus? Has the tests changed to where that is no longer a factor?

My understanding is when the test is taken, it’s only a time stamp of your condition on that day.

You can have a false positive or a false negative on any test.
And like stones said, you could test negative now and catch it an hour after the test and never know. 99% of the people who get infected have mild to no symptoms.

A few months back the "quick" tests were only around 70% accurate so false negatives were also happening. I have been tested myself 3 times as well and can attest to them getting better at doing it, the first time the equipment was different and my nose was sore for a couple days where as the last times the swabs were flexible and much less of a discomfort. I got hurt last year and was barely attempting coming back to the workforce when the virus arrived, during the first week of "craze" in March we were at the hospital because my wife had emergency surgery fue to pregnancy complications which put her on short term. She was at supervisor at the international airport, during the recovery the shut downs begun and everyone layed off; he had already been eating at my emergency savings as neither one was applicacle for unemployment. I applied day after day with no luck, Amazon would give me job interviews and cancel them the same day (this happened 4 times); finally a guy i knew led me to where i am now which is a very small company but has allowed me to keep things afloat while my wife stays at home with our now 5 month old. Had things went on for a month more my Camaro was already spoken for and accomodations were being made to start selling other things.

I deliver goods to grocery stores and the only thing i will say is that in the 6 months i have been doing this job i have seen employees after employees become absent for weeks and some not coming back.

Lost a sale of our home in a commercial deal earlier in the year because of covid and it’s effects on the economy. Was close to closing by the end of the year on a different property but election winner put cold feet in the interested party. Trying to get out of this state before it takes too much more of our hard earned $’s but having a hard time making it happen. Sad for all the folks unable to work from these shutdowns.
