Yes they are special and I wouldn’t trade or sell mine for any amount now!

I bought my 2016 Mustang GT brand new for $27,3xx. There was a hailstorm at the dealership and it received extensive body damaged. Whoever did the work did an exceptional job as outside of two very faint impressions on the hood, you couldn’t tell a thing. Dealership was upfront about these particular vehicles so no issue there. Since it wasn’t a total loss, no salvage title. Almost 5 years later, still driving it and never had an issue with hail stone impressions returning.

I'd ask them to fix it and lower the price $10k.

The sanding spots are from the factory. Those are spots where there was "trash" in the paint. They spot sand and buff it down to get rid of the imperfection in the paint. It can be polished out to look like the rest of the paint without much effort.

If you don't see any impact marks, I doubt the car was actually damaged. More than likely just poor effort while mating the bumper to the car. Do they have a body shop that can try and refit the bumper cover?
I agree and also doubt that this car was ever damaged. I have personally seen many examples of unbelievably poor front facia to fender fit on brand new cars on the lot. Most have good fit but some have very poor fit. This is an area to always inspect closely on these cars. There are several past posts on the forum on this exact subject. Sadly this should have never left the plant but quality control sometimes seems nonexistent...

2020 Damaged

My 2020 was delivered with a bent wheel,Knicks out of the wheel, three scratches, two of them down to the metal, areas where they had been wet sanded and not finished. That is why I ordered a 2021. It just came in yesterday, so I am anxious to look it over. It was in 4B00 status for awhile so I am kinda worried.

I can see that car already has suspension issues and needs an alignment, or is it the pics that are the problem, it doesn't set well on level ground! Congrats on a beautiful car and it happens to be one of my favorite colors too!
