You might stay in first with the M6 since you have to push in the clutch and may cause you to have issues of not getting the slicks to spin again. On my C5 Vet I had years back I was able to do the burn out in 2nd gear. But I may have had a different 2nd gear ratio. You would just have to bring your rpm's up more to do the 2nd gear burnout

Possibly, but the best on the fast list right now is cwebster at 11.5. Look up his many threads on chasing times with his M6.
You said you're running Nitto 555s right now so serious question have you even hit 11s yet with those crappy tires? |

OH yah, those 555's couldn't suck anymore and still hold air! I think my wife's 17 Camry would give me a good run for my money in 60'. I thought after cwebster got a drag pack he significantly lowered that 11.5? When I first got my car I was all over his posts. I want to get a set of those NT05R's, but I would have to change wheels. They only come in 315x35x20 (on 20" wheels). |

I actually have a set of the Nitto 555R2s on my Vet that I just ran at the NMCA GM performance challenge. I'm running the 3053519, hooked every time and took home a cool Grand since I won my class. Nmca 100 bucks and Nitto paid me 900 bucks. Good weekend. Running them again next weekend also, converting to E85 on the Vet Tuesday. There was a Zl1 at the race running the 20" R2s and the car was built by Nickey performance. I think he was hooking pretty good, he was making just shy of 800 rwhp with a Magnuson 2650, drove it there to St Louis from close to Chicago.

Took the car to Portland Raceway and made some runs last night. The track is no way near as good as woodburn and I was breaking loose most of the night. As it cooled down the car started doing better, I ran 2 back to back 11.08 runs!! So a new best time. First time the car got faster as the night went along. In the past it would make its best run right off the trailer then be close to the time but never better so I was super happy last night. I talked to several people that race there and they all say Portland is usually 2 tenths slower then the other tracks in the area. So I need to find a better preped track that has evening racing.
Ant Edit: I was in the right lane |

Two cars I had were consistent 10.70’s @125mph w/60’s in the 1.4-1.5 range. Trans brake would get you a 10 if it hooks. |

Good job Ants, let some cool weather come in this fall and you'll get in the 10's How much fuel are you running at the track? No Trans Brake is needed, just some seat time and good air. I went 9.41@146 off 1500 rpm launch off the foot brake. Just get that 60ft into the mid 1.60s and it will happen when the Temps and DA are lower

I only had 5 gal of 109 to 3/4 tank that was in car i didn't plan quite right for the mix i wanted. As for the 60' I'm not sure how to get it down any more, i tried all different launch rpm and burn outs. I think I'm at the limit of the trans tuning and my car has the t93 module that is not unlocked yet. I know I need lower temps but we only have a few more races here for the season and then the shut down for winter.
I'm making some improvements ever time so we'll see what happens this week. Ant |
