And heh, in some cars, ATF also served as the power steering fluid.

As for Royal Purple, personally I don't like it much just because back in my RX-8 days, I have heard cases of synchro failures after people put Royal Purple fluid in. No idea about how much the TR-6060 likes it, but again, make sure it meets Dexron III standard.

Makes sense, but I have no idea where to get the TREMEC stuff in Canada... Amsoil stuff is available locally. No expensive shipping to worry about.

I swapped mine out to Redline D4 ATF on forum recommendation (was also considering RP synchromax) after having some issues shifting into and out of reverse and have not had issues. A few thousand miles later and a couple autox and track days, have also noticed smoother shifts overall compared to OEM fluid.

Factory juice works pretty good so far across a very wide temperature range.

I ran the Redline ATF in my last SS and honestly couldn't tell any difference.

My 2019 owners manual says to use GM part # 88861037, which is Dexron VI, not Dexron III. I had some issues with balky shifting at high temps (>225) on track recently with the OE fluid. I'm wondering if I should try a slightly heavier oil. It's primarily a track car, so cold conditions aren't a big concern. Supposedly the Dexron VI starts out a little thinner than III, but they both shear down to the same viscosity.

I've put RP Synchromax in every Tremec 6spd car I've owned. Always works great. The RP Max Gear works great in the rear diff as well.

FWIW, for me the throws (up and down) are smooth as silk throughout the entire rev range. A noticable improvement over OEM gear oil. More importantly, I'm seeing/logging lower gear temps under heavy load. Better performance and potential longevity.

IMHO, I don't see a better product available for 6060... Tremec gear matched to a gear oil specifically developed/engineered by the same company that developed/engineered the transmission.

Win/win for me.
