If you're running the stage 2 front cooler system, you won't have any cooling issues with a ZL1 at 15psi.
toohighpsi, What is this cooling system that you speak of?

I'd like to head down the 2650 path also, but am concerned about TX heat with the motor running ~ 6000rpm for 20-30min. Target will be 650-700 for both HP & TQ, above that I feel it is pretty much wasted.

Thx in advance

havent read through all those comments but with boost i would recommend the mighty mouse wild catch can with the pcv valve to help with venting crank case without having issues with boost going backwards through the catch can.

The Stage 2 is a larger LTR (heat exchanger) up front. Its an inch thicker then the stock heat exchanger that comes with the stock kits. I was seeing 30 degrees cooler with the 2650 over my 2300. I'm not sure how big the Zl1 heat exchanger is up front.

Thx laynlo
Are you talking about the weapon x 'kit'? It looks like it replaces the 2 intercoolers and the auxiliary radiator. Items 4, 5 & 7 in the sketch below

No I'm just talking about the difference between the 2300 intercooler bricks and the 2650 intercooler bricks. That's how much better the 2650 system is then the 2300.

If anyone is doing a 2650 in the future I have a set of modded stock valve covers. You can see them on members classified.

Any updates on the 2650?

I was told they work better with stock converter? Anyone agree or disagree thanks for your feedback

Stock converter is all you need. Boost is instant and I ran a stock converter with similar package but with an 8 spd and had a best 60 ft of 1.35. Your good to go.

That is hooking.

With the ZL1s on a regular track day / no prep we have seen 1.45 60ft on a consistent basis along with high 9 sec time slips, with no internal engine mods and or suspension mods, other than some sticky rear tires.

Any updates OP? I’m thinking of getting one for my ZLE. I also love to go to the road course and don’t want any knocking/heat issues. From what it seems you can order them now that come with a map meant for 91 octane on a stock car.... 700whp or so? I’ll link the video I saw from Magnuson at the bottom. I wouldn’t mind doing a 50/50 100 octane to 91 octane mix on road course days just to play it safe. Opinions?

Don't do it unless you are prepared to make a lot of other changes to the car. The default 90mm pulley is too much boost for the stock fuel pump to keep up on a road course. I told Magnuson about this but I don't know if they ever did anything about it. At a minimum you'll need a JMS voltage booster to keep fuel supplied. Don't even consider the supplemental kits like the one from DSX Tuning. It's junk and completely worthless for road course use on a car with a saddle tank.

The next problem you'll have is heat. With the extra power comes a lot more heat. The stock cooling cannot keep up on a hot track day. My coolant temps are going 240+ and my oil temps are 290+. The transmission temps were a lot hotter too (about 240). I've fixed the trans temps with a supplemental cooler. I have a new primary radiator, center heat exchanger for the supercharger, and a custom oil cooler coming.

I plan to follow up at some point after I get all of the issues sorted.
