Track= Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course - Club
Elapsed Time= 1:39.88s Virtual best: 1:39.55s Camaro Model = 2018 2SS 1LE Date= 5/26/2020 Tires= OEM SC3s 285/305 35-37 PSI hot Mods= Raybesto ST45/ST43 brake pads First event with the Camaro, first event since August of 2019 when i got rid of my M3 ZCP. Track was in pretty rough shape, dirt and dust in the chicane and keyhole; it may have been the first event of the year for Mid Ohio too, but I'm not sure. Pretty hot and humid, upper 80s, track was greasy in the afternoons so I didnt bother with the happy hours. There was pretty good turn-out of Camaros, one on Hoosiers and then the gentleman above with the tuned SS (i couldnt keep up with you on the back straight). Given the conditions, I'm OK with a :39 but thought it would be easier to break into the 30s. Traffic hurt a few flyer laps giving way to faster GT3RSs, etc. First time on the SC3s and Raybestos, both of which are good and worked pretty well together. I'm interested to see how the car will do with RE71Rs tho as I thought the Goodyears were sensitive to pressure variations and got greasy. Hoping for a sub :38 next time out.. Video is on YouTube but there's no overlay yet as HLT wont export with Andriod 10 yet. Once i have that i will reupload the video (need a better camera mount too). What is your alignment specs? And what drive mode did ya run? Ps ive tried RE71Rs square (295) and they were no faster for me vs stockers. Top shelf tires for certain, but personally i see no reason to pay more. Looking fwd to the vid. |

High Plains Raceway CCW 2:02.52 ZL1 1LE (2018 M6) June 16, 2019 (SCCA National Time Trial) Hankook RS4 305 square on factory rims. Mods - Castrol SRF, Pagid RSL19 pads front, RSL 29 rear Factory track spec alignment What an awesome track. I highly recommend High Plans Raceway. A very nice facility. The track itself has a stunning mix of elevation, blind corners and speed. Can't wait to go back. |

I experimented with the tires from 33 to 39 hot, and 35-37 produced the quickest laps. I tend to run my tires higher than others tho. I will give the 71's a shot, but I'm not expecting much of an improvement (outside of cold grip). I ran in track mode, sport 1 and 2. My alignment ended up being -2.5/2.0 camber front/rear and 0/0.07 toe front/rear. I asked for -2.8-3.0 but when I picked up the car it was only 2.5, and they had broken the front splitter driving it up on the rack Definitely needs another 0.5 of camber tho, as it was under-steering pretty badly on the back half of the track. Two comments: most fast folks run 1 (or more vs less) degree split F vs R. I am at 2.6F and 1.6R and the balance is very neutral in all corners: fast and slow. And tire wear very even. Couldn't ask for anything better imo with stock G3s (ditto with square RE71Rs as well btw). Sport 1 has Stabilitrak engaged, so the car will feel tight not allowing for bigger slip angles and yaw (by design). Not much to recommend Sport 2 over Race, assuming you are comfy controlling any potential of additional overslip on exits (which i get a sense that you are fully capable of ) That's the only difference as neither has Stabilitrak active.Cheers! |

Roebling Road
Roebling Road Raceway, Bloomingdale, GA 5/29/2020
2019 ZLE, bone stock except brake fluid. 1:19.91 First time out with the new toy. Still getting used to the way this car drives. I was hoping to beat my best time in my old M3, but it wasn't going to happen on that day. Unfortunately the afternoon heat and traffic prevented much improvement on this early session. There's certainly more in it, but that will have to wait for cooler weather and more seat time so I can get more confidence in the car. And a new set of tires since I pretty much killed the SC3Rs in one day.....Welcome to Roebling! |

Overall the car is very stable and neutral in both slow and fast corners. Of course i can get it loose, but that's a driver induced issue Cheers!

Got back to Grattan, finally. I was able to clean up a decent amount. There is still some time left on the table with some basics with brake/throttle overlap and tidying up T11-12, but I am happy with where I was able to put the car.
Also, I ran Track mode with all off for my last two sessions to give it a try. My thoughts are this: The car did feel noticeably different compared to PTM Race mode - enough that the first session I tried it, I had to get my self comfortable with pushing the car fully again. Just like the PTM/mode explanation by Tadge indicates (https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=496996; and others have mentioned) the car feels able to rotate a bit better and power-on feels a bit better/stronger. I definitely like it, it feels more natural, but I definitely had to "re-set" my brain briefly. Best I did was a 1:28.70 with PTM Race (Race TC/no Stab/eLSD "Mode 3") and a 1:28.79 in Track/all-OFF (no TC/no Stab/eLSD "Mode 2"). Honestly, I feel like the potential between PTM Race and Track/all-OFF is minor; for the most part, it'll come to being used to one over the other/comfort.
