STOLEN ZL1 1LE
My Silver 19' ZLE was snatched up on the 1st and I dout it will ever be seen again. Whoever took it got in it with no glass breakage and there was no sign of dragging it out of the parking spot.. Be careful!!

So sorry to read that! I saw another person posted about their ZL1 being stolen in the Houston Facebook group just under a month ago.
FYI to everyone that you should store your key fobs in a Faraday pouch/bag/box to prevent people from using a wireless repeater pick up the signal while you are inside and make the car think it is present. I believe once they start the car using this method they can drive it until shutting it off with the key never being physically present. https://jalopnik.com/heres-just-how-...car-1837372230 |

I live in Montrose/Heights area. I heard about the key cloning and I bet that's what happened.

I would think that locking the doors by using the handle button and not the remote might be a little more secure. When you press the remote button, it transmits, when you use the handle button the remote is passive and the door antenna is reading, very small frequency footprint.

You need to keep your fob in something that doesn't allow it to communicate with your car, ie a Faraday cage. |
