These things are not really needed on the street, but very cool to have. All SSes are built to be track animals. The SS 1LE even more so. The SSes and base ZL!s are all track ready with tires, but you do not pay much of a street penalty for that. With the ZL1/1LE you trade most of the comfort in exchange for a track tiger. All amazing performance engineering as in all Camaros. If that sort of thing matters to you.

LT1's do have engine oil coolers. Heat sinks stacked next to the oil pan with two lines coming out and going up to the front of the car. Confirmed when I did my 1500 mile service myself on the hoist.

That is good to know so that pretty much means we can add that to what the LT1 actually has. The LT1 doesn't have the rear brakes, rear diff and trans cooling, options for 1LE and Mag ride or the rear tires the SS has though however, the LT1 is proving to have more SS components than I thought it did.

For me I liked the HUD for GPS directions and Magride does have a slightly more comfortable Tour setting that softens the ride a bit. But I am okay with missing those things and trading for lower cost, less weight, and less long term complexity. As anothe poster said the LT1 is the new LX 5.0. One more thing I will miss is a track hook if Atco opens up again and I go big. On the 5th gens we could pull the bumper cover and drill a few holes to bolt one on.

Engine oil cooler is standard on the LT1. Manual trans/diff are not available.

Does anyone know how I start the timer? I tried it the other day but I was probably hitting the wrong. I hit the ok button in middle on the right hand side but then when I went the timer didn't start.

Thanks for posting this man, I discovered 4 of my menu options were hidden from factory on my LT1.
