I also found it to be very much as fast as my friends GT3 RS. I haven't had a chance to do a real time seat compare with his new GT2 RS.

Update from my post #1.
Been about 5 months now, you can see from my sig I'm all about the M6! This A10 tranny is sick, not bored at all, took about a month for my left foot to learn that there is no clutch there anymore, LOL The car is like dr. jekle and mr. hyde. When you drive normal everything is cool as a cucumber. When you start driving it hard the car says OH, driving like a dick I see, lets do this!! or if you want quick thrills just tap the gas hard and it goes into performance mode and its awesome. The A10 is more fun than I thought it would be. 0-60 runs are funny as hell, power brake and go, don't matter, drive modes, pavement or tire pressure, boom 3.7 time and time again. I'm sure if I played with heat, pressures in the rear tires I would get even lower times.

I don't think anyone will argue the fact the the A10 will be faster on the strip, its about the driving experience. Yes its going to be fun no matter what you drive but the manual is a whole different feel. I didn't buy the car to race every kid that pulls up in his mustang, I bought it for the experience of driving it. I sold my Corvette GS because it was a auto.....I know its not the A10 so its not as fast but again thats not my purpose. If you bought the car to drag race then you probably bought the wrong car and the A10 is the way to go.

I've always been a manual guy (always = 20+ years). I've been in my A10 for a few months and my left foot still twitches at times but it just makes me laugh. I thought I wasn't going to enjoy driving the A10 in manual mode and instead just always leave it in auto -- I thought it would just be a tease. Turns out I really like driving this car in manual mode. I'm in manual mode 80% of the time. I miss the clutch pedal and the "cool factor" but I actually like having an auto at times too, so I feel like all in all it was the right move for me.

If I were to get a ZL1, I'd probably spring for the A10 too. Huge manual fan here btw.

I'm a manual guy, I've owned numerous performance cars, 90% of them were manual. I never had the opportunity to drive the ZL1 in the A10 transmission, but I did drive a C7 GS, C7 ZO6, and the latest CTS-V in the automatic. I know it's a different trans in these cars, and they were ALL fun to drive. I will also agree that the auto felt noticeably faster (whether that was the actual case or not, I don't know). The auto places you in the power band more often, so much so that I felt like I was constantly setting off the blinking light for the traction and stability management. One really important thing to keep in mind:
Autos will be around for a long time to come, until electric cars take over completely that is... The opportunity to own a modern, well made manual transmission is going away FAST! The more we don't support it by buying a manual, the quicker manufacturers will discontinue them altogether. I am loving the 6mt in my ZL1! The shift linkage is not where modern Porsche's are or slightly older BMW M cars, but it's still well tuned. I would absolutely not trade my 6mt for an A10, unless I had some type of an injury that would cause pushing the clutch pedal with my left foot to become a nuisance. Bottom line: I'm glad they made both, I'm glad we're able to argue which one we like more, and I'm glad we're able to vote for the one we like more with our wallet. For me, 6mt all the way!!! Enjoy your A10, especially if you're constantly launching your car or driving in LA traffic (these are 2 of the 3 reasons that would make me choose an A10 over a 6mt).
