I’ve pushed pretty hard. I’ll try again with a little more pressure and see if it works. In regards to crawling through the back, I am correct that the ZLE seats do not fold, right?

They do fold but you have to get in the trunk to do it...

Well tried all of the above again. Looks like it will be a visit to the dealer. Maybe I can get it scheduled for the next oil change and get it all done at once as I don’t really need access to my trunk. Thanks for the tips, fellas.

You supposedly can drop the rear seat without being in the trunk in a 1LE but I wasn't able to do it. There's a bulletin posted somewhere on this site showing putting a trim tool down in between the top center of the rear seat and the rear deck and you should be able to trigger the release. I tried this when I disconnected the battery and then shut the trunk. Turns out you can put jumpers on the front engine bay terminals and it will power the car in this situation so you can actuate the truck release. Won't help your case though unfortunately.

Tried again last night, no luck. Not comfortable using any more force. Looks like it will be going to the dealership sometime in the near future. Thanks for the tips.

And here I am dealing with same problem, trunk won't open unless mechanically from inside....., moreover the latch doesn't even make any sound when pressing the release button, then I took a multimeter and checked if comes any signal to the latch, it does, well I thought case closed, latch is defective, then I played a lil more with it, it started to work, now it doesn't work anymore again.......and as I mentioned, signal comes to latch, but the driver in it doesn't budge 1mm or make any sound..........would a new latch solve the problem? I see a lot of ppl with trunk release problems @ here, I'm not sure on any type of fix anymore......

I have had the same issue on both my ZLEs. Happened this weekend again. I try a few times and if that doesn’t work then I just go forward with my trip. After I arrive to destination I try again and it always works. Between both cars it’s happenwd only 2 or 3 times.

I’ve had this happen twice, once I was able to push down on the deck lid and it was able to release. The other time I had the car running, in neutral and without parking brake on and trunk wouldn’t release. Kept trying with release by trunk, pushing down on trunk lid, button by door, and nothing. Put the parking brake on and tried and it popped right open.

The thing is remote sends signal and so does the ecu as I measured the connector that goes into the actuator and whenever I press the release button comes signal but the actuator is dead. To some of you guys maybe there comes no signal to the actuator, better check with a multimeter, it's a quick test.

What most everyone else said...apply a little downward force to the trunk lid, release the pressure on the trunk lid, then hit the trunk release button. This works for me.

Pulling up or applying pressure while hitting the release button has not worked for me.
