And you seem to have gotten away with it again. Maybe it is being ignored until somebody reports it and nobody has reported it, yet. But that is the last time you'll insult us. There are rules here and part of the first rule is not to insult others.

As far as the term "ricer". It is a general term and it is used very often. It is not racial and there is no way I could have been using it in a racial way since I don't know what Race you are or claim to be nor do I care. I'm African American. Did I call anyone out for racial undertones when several Mustang guys over here said I live in the "ghetto" or "section 8" housing? No. I didn't. Because I don't care. And for the record, I never called you a "ricer" nor have I ever called you any name. If you were offended by my statements, then you would have said so instead of using it as an angle after you got called out for throwing insults. You're the one who thinks he has free reign to say whatever you want. Even if I say the stupidest nonsense over here on a Camaro forum in support of the car that I own, what is it to you? Do you think for a second that I care what anyone thinks of the ZL1 on any other forum or even what people think of me? SO if it bothers you that we here on a Camaro forum are supporting the car that we paid money for, then you shouldn't even be here in the first place.
I don’t care what your race is or how others have referred to you or whether or not you find it offensive. I have never made reference to you in that manner I also do not care how often the term “Ricer” is used or how you interpret its meaning. I find it offensive because it is a negative stereotype of Asian car culture.

This is the versus section, deal with the criticism or head over to a less critical area.

IDGAF bro. You're the one who brought up your Race. "Ricer" is a generic term. And nobody called you one. You sat up here calling us "clowns". Stop trying to justify and excuse it. If it was that offensive to you then you would have brought it up when it was said instead of now after you've been called out for name calling. This isn't the 2nd grade. We're all adults here. Don't call us names. You did it 2 times already. Don't do it again. The end.

You can go sit and spin Bro, I know you like to think of yourself as the forum bully but I’m not the one and things don’t end when you say they do, you’re damn right I brought up my race , you referred to me as “just like a ricer”. How you may feel about that word is irrelevant, I’m telling you don’t use it in reference to me again.

For the record I called you a clown once, feel free to quote the 2nd time, you’ll claim you can’t be bothered but truth is it never happened.

All I can say after reading thru many of these pages is this, any mustang fans in here talking trash probably should try to get a life. This was a discussion about the new ford gt500 and the fact that you're in here trolling says to me you should probably get a life. Maybe take up some hobbies or other constructive activities in life, I barely have enough time or energy to check out and comment on forums about a car that I own. And love to own. I can only see the driving force behind your trash talking as jealousy. Maybe head back to your own corner and boost each others self esteem, or dont, nobody here really cares. To add to the discussion I thought you'd be able to get a carbon track pack gt500 for 95k otd. Guess that figures out the window now that msrp for it is about 95k. Does carbon fiber cost that much? I'm just wondering if anyone here can justify the price they have set on these things, thanks

I cannot justify the price. I was looking to possibly buy one. But even the Base being $74K is a turn off. By the time I add in the options or tech pack or whatever pack they have for it that I want, the price is going to soar to high $80K. I'm not sure what comes standard on the CF version but I'm sure that once I add in options to it the price will be over $100K OTD with taxes and tags. I couldn't justify that kind of money on a Hellcat WB or a Redeye WB either seeing as how they both creep into the high $80K to low $90K range when optioned also. Not for one car with RWD that can basically fit only 2 adults...except for a Vette. A Trackhawk comes in at low $90K and that has much more practicality and is fully loaded. Same with M5s and quite a few other vehicles.

My only thinking is that they priced them this high to try and prevent ADMs. I believe it is the fault of all the consumers who paid those markups for the GT350, GT350R, and the early on Hellcats. Lots of people paid $90K and more for GT350Rs. Some were paying $75K-$85K for the non-R. And it seems that the only way to combat this is to price the cars high enough that nobody will pay extra. But that plan is failing as dealerships are already marking the GT500s up and people are still agreeing to pay it.

I think the base car is priced right. At $74k it’s a bit above ZL1 pricing. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder and my eye beholds a car that is better looking than the ZL1. Performance is still a bit of a wild card, but if it hits the marks that Carl Widman (Al Oppenheiser in a Ford polo, minus the beard ) has set, then it is gonna be an excellent performer. I expect that unless it is north of about 4,100 lbs it should see a better quarter mile than either Redeye or base ZL1. Widman has said mid-3s 0-60 and under 11 quarter. If it hits those targets it’s a win and worth $74k gauged by today’s standards. Hard to say how this will fair on the track versus the ZL1. Beating the ZL1 would definitely make it worth the $74k. Losing but just barely would also make it worth the price, in my opinion. Given how close ZL1 and GT350R are (basically a driver’s race, and somewhat track dependent.) I would expect it should win that too. So, if you’re talking a car that can best a ZL1 in the quarter and on the track, $74k is a good price. We can argue that it took 4 years to catch up, but when you’re standing on the tarmac discussing the last session, nobody gives a shit.

Where the train jumps the tracks is when they demand $18k for the carbon track pack. They do at least offer a lower priced, lower content track option. But for the price, all you get is a wicker and canards for the front splitter. That’s over-priced, but not as wildly over-priced as the full blown CFTP. CFTP is likely for hardcore trackers who will store it in their garage at the track and for collectors who want to be able to say “I checked all the boxes”.

Then there’s the stripes. I’m pretty sure that what Ford is doing here is saying...”painting stripes on is a pain in the ass...we really don’t want to do that...but there’s always some guy that says ‘decals are cheap. I gotta have my stripes painted on’....well fine then...$10k”. They would rather not do it, so they are pricing it so that most people will have the smarts to take a pass on it.

For the sake of fairness, when comparing the CFTP to ZLE we should include the $18k for the CFTP option, of course, but should probably exclude the price of the stripes. Unlike what I thought as a pre-teen, the stripes are not integral to the performance of the car. There will still be a huge price disparity between the two that may or may not bear out in performance difference. Again, time will tell. Until pro drivers get them together in the right setting, all we can do is guess and chest pound.

And wasn't there also talk about GM holding Camaro7 until after S650 debuts?

Honestly, the whole jumping to conclusions regarding the "cancelation" of Camaro was ridiculous. I'll see if I can find the statement about them waiting.

I wonder if that means they'll hold off till MY 2027... that seems crazy, especially seeing as Camaro would seem to provide the "volume" for the platform.
