Anyone care to give the cliff notes. Here is the catch: One sentence or less.

See no point in these cars (except to say you have one....yippeee!!!) unless you make them AWD. Otherwise, a standard GT or SS is way more manageable on the street and less frustrating.
This is what Ford and Chevy will do, only they are playing catch up. The M5 will do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds in AWD.

The GT500 or ZL1 can't even touch that. And the M5 only has 600'ish hp

Can we just ban the Mustang Fanbois and be done with them. They come over here starting stuff for no reason as just to argumentative and boast. They have no reason to be here if that is all they are going to do.

I actually think the Mustang guys should be allowed here. IMO respectful boasting and arguing is OK. Otherwise, we would ban certain users that come here to justify their purchase of an SS and tell us how pointless a ZL1 or anything with over 600HP is on almost every thread.

I didn't buy my car to ride around and feel good about spending my money or to go 0-60 in 2.8 - for that you buy a Tesla... I bought it because I wanted a track car that was very capable and a top performer from factory- with a reasonable cost to value.

That is true but for the longest time GM stood strong on no automatics in 1LE.

T4 1LE, manual only
V6 1LE manual only
SS 1LE manual only

ZLE- after GT500 announced as DCT it gets the A10.

That evidence to me points to it be more of a reaction on GM than a reaction from Ford

I would agree with that. That is some kinda fast reaction. With that, then the LT5 is going in the Camaro ZL1 really fast. I would say by next January. They just have to figure out the hood room, etc.

Since the C8 will be out'ish, with all new motors, GM won't care about the "old" ZR1, kinda.

WeaponX already advertises the LT5 in a Camaro. I am not sure of what happens about installation.

I think BMW underrated that M5 a bit.. when people put it on the dyno it put down some solid numbers . I would like one!

Can always learn something from the other side as long as it remains respectful.

It's all bench racing until we actually see something in the wild.
ZLE has been out a long time now and definitely proven itself. Mustang fans have been waiting way too long for this one so just expect a few over zealous comments.

If your story is true, then it was a special case and you knew the dealership or had a long term relationship with them. But you certainly didn't walk into some unknown dealership and walk out with a R for $100 below MSRP. I don't believe that for a second.
Call it a special case or whatever you want. I already said I know I got lucky. I was Johnny on the spot all ready to go. Someone else got lucky too from the same dealership. They sold a white with blue stripe R for MSRP to a guy in CA. I saw it sold on the floor waiting for pickup. Not more than 20 miles away at another Ford dealership there were two R's for $99K each. It's weird but very true man. I tried to deal on a Magnetic Gray they had but they were absurd. Said if I was serious they might come down to $15k over. LOL. Passed obviously. They did sell it tho. To a guy in Montana I was told.

Like I said, if he bought a Bullitt, it was because he needed something that was better suited for DD and did not want a GT or SS.
That's precisely what he did. He loved his Track Attack experience that much. Keep in mind, he hasn't tracked the Z06. He just putts around in it with an occasional burst here an there.

So you got your R in October 2018? Where did you get it?

I would love to see them do it, because I think it would decimate anything that stood in it's way. I just don't know if they will. I know a lot of things have changed but the ZR1 engine has historically been a corvette exclusive

Well so was the Z06, but we see where we are with that. The C8 is going to have overhead cams and have 3 levels of motors not in the C7. The C7 will just fade away.
