Like said, pull plugs and turn over, if it goes clank clank clank you broke a rod.
just to clarify, probably did do damage or probably didn't do any damage while cranking it over?

I can't see how H2o could get in the engine if a water wasn't even as high as the doors. The Cold Air intake is way higher than that. The electricals probably just got wet. Probably will start once it dries out.

Take a look at the scoop that feeds into the air box its pretty low, when I hit the water it splashed up. None of the electronics got wet as they were high enough up under the center console according to the tech. I pulled the lid off of the airbox. Definitely got water into the engine. They're determining if anything was damaged after i tried to turn it over now. Hopefully have a better Idea tomorrow.

Ok? So how does stalling the car in water help a patient? Again, no reason to take that risk, unless your situation demands it as the safest alternative, but I find that highly unlikely.

So you park it in a high spot and get an Uber or a bus.

Yes, I have been to Houston. I also watch the weather and don’t drive the car when there is an imminent threat.

So got some great news today. After they pulled the plugs, evacuated the water, and changed the oil she fired up and ran fine. Ran for an hour with without throwing any codes, and the compression check was good. He'll drive it after the interior is all put back together. The carpet is out and drying and they're replacing the Jute (no idea how it's spelled). So now all they're gunna do is change all of the fluids in the car and after the carpet dries put it back together. I am absolutely stoked about this news, I was sick to my stomach when it happened.

That’s a good ending, hopefully it lasts!

If you think you can park in a high spot in Houston, you haven't been to Houston.

The only high spots for cars are overpasses and parking garages, reaching either one of them you're just as likely to hydrolock...and so could Uber or a Bus.

Good news, but guessing the bill won't be pretty.
