Secondly, neither of these cars really address the drivetrain with any beefier components or upgrading any of the suspension. Yes, the RS3 comes with their adjustable suspension, but it is still riding on stock components...

Anyway, yes, IMO the Roush looks a lot better and is less expensive. Assuming it performs to what it should (710 hp worth), then the Roush is likely the better value option. The 5 year powertrain warranty is a big deal IMO. I don't know enough about the Yenko, but according to Blaq it is much more more expensive ($60-65k vs $100k+), which puts a damper on the value portion for the Yenko. Plus, I think that Yenko hood and styling look horrendous.

By the time they release specs for the GT500 and by the time it is out for sale there will be soo many other cars that people will have to look forward to. GM is already announcing next Gen stuff while Ford has people waiting almost halfway thru this current MY for info on the GT500. I think a lot of people have moved on and are anticipating ME Vettes at this point Especially since I predict the ME Vette will be cheaper and will beat the GT500 around a track. Quote:
I also think that IF Ford does push the S550 longer then the GT500 will have a very short victory. If the 7th Gen Camaro follows the same path over the 6th Gen Camaro that the 6th Gen Camaro took over the 5th Gens, then the next SS should either match the current ZL1 or come close to it. So if the GT500 is not able to beat the standard ZL1 around a track then I think it will have a hard time against the 7th Gen SS. I'm eager to see what happens. |

I was a mustang guy but plan on buying a ZL1 at the beginning of next year. There is a rumor that the bas GT500 MSRP will be around $67k. I hope this is true, even something $6XXXX. I think this will push Chevy to make the ZL1 better even though I highly doubt the GT500 will outperform the current ZL1 on the track. The only thing the I wish Chevy would do is have a similar fuel setup as the Mustang; it would make it cheaper for us to run e85.

Keep in mind that the ZL1 uses a modified A10 that isn't available on any other GM product. Throw in the fact that it will just about handle 1000 hp in stock form, that says a lot. They arent using this trans though... And like with the RS3, their tunes are soft....to keep the drivetrain from going BOOM... so you almost have to wonder/question how much extra effort is going into these builds...

![]() ![]() That being said, I don't see the GT 500 coming in at under 75k PERIOD. You have to think, the RedEye's are going for 90k+.. There's one here in Indiana for basically 100k. Remember, this is Ford's Corvette.....so they are going to play it up as much as they can. Yes, they have the Ford GT...but it's not the same...
