We probably will. The problem that Ford doesn't seem to understand is that after so long nobody cares.

Is it a Random thought or a direct stab?

I guess Roush wants to get their hands in. A $22K package for 710HP. You also get other upgrades as well. So a fully loaded brand new GT with this package would be somewhere around $65K to $75K it looks like. Although this isn't an official Ford factory vehicle I do wonder how it would stack up against the competition. They claim a quarter mile of less than 11 seconds. And there is no mention of a speed limiter. So I would also wonder how fast it's mechanical limit will be with the limiter removed. And I wonder if this would be a good alternative for those who want a GT500 but will not pay markups. At that price it is certainly less than a Redeye and around the price of a ZLE. But would it perform as well as those cars?

I do not want to start another topic above this Threat, but I got a question for Idaho, Chadicus, Newmoon, Shaffe, Hotlap, Devil and Blaq, Even Martin if he wants to answer.

Which Vehicle is worth more for what it offers? (Technology and Performance)

1- Mustang GT pp1 with Roush Package Stage 3
2- Camaro SS 1le with Yenko Stage 2

I think the Roush certainly looks better, lol!!

The Premium GT would probably be a better choice over the PP1 since the RS3 package comes with upgraded suspension components. The Yenko comes with a fully built engine. But the stage 1 is twice the price of the RS3 setup. And the Yenko stage 2 is 3 times as much at $67K. That would mean a $100K plus Camaro up against a $65K Mustang. So I think the RS3 would be a better deal. I'm not sure I'd pay $100K for a Camaro.

I'd pick the Roush.

If this is the case why will each and every one sell at above MSRP instead of offering discounts right out of the gate. You don't care others do.

None. They are all overpriced and under performing offerings. If you want power and speed buy the ZL1/GT500 and mod from there.

I wouldn't take either one. Both are overpriced.

Literally a random thought. I was in the process of trying to figure out if July 18 had any specific importance to Corvette World (day 1st car built- nope....Zora Arkus Duntov's date of birth or death...double nope) in order to try to figure out WHERE the announcement would be made. Then it occurred to me that we KNOW when specs will be released for Corvette. We still don't know when they'll be released for GT500. Could be Wednesday during the National Mustang Day event at the New York Auto Show. If not then, when?

The Mustang fans will care no matter what. There are people who will buy one no matter how much it is or how it performs.

Non Mustang fans like myself have lost interest. I personally have moved my interest to the C8 and the 7th Gen Camaro. We dont know very much about the 500. I feel like I know a lot more about the C8 than I do the GT500.

Between these two, without a doubt, the Roush. But to be honest, if I was gonna spend what it would cost to buy the Roush, I'd just buy a ZL1 and call it a day.

The Roush looks much better than the Yenko in my opinion. I don't like the Yenko hood treatment at all, especially the initials. That would have to go.

The Yenko would be great for anybody who finds 1,000 hp important. I just don't happen to be one of those people. It provides a lot of what I would personally not be willing to spend money on. If I was dropping $100k+ on a sports car, it would be C8.

I wasn’t impressed with the Yenko until I saw and heard it in person, it looked great and sounded even better. It also sold for 155k. Not sure it’s worth that but they did only make 25 of them.

Oh and let's not forget the R&D that Ford had to put into it, the strict standards they have to abide by, the "Shelby" name which brings more money, and it is limited addition...not everyone will be able to get one even if they can afford it whereas the Roush is readily available to anyone who wants one at any time. So all things considered I'm not seeing how the GT500 will be less than $80K.
Don't forget though, since the Roush is a third party package they are charging people retail prices for those upgrades, as well as factoring in installing them in peoples cars. So keeping that in mind, I wouldn't use that as an accurate estimate to figure out GT500 price.

This ^ it may make the peak number but probably an ultra conservative tune.

That's true. Mustang fans are going to gobble up the info regardless of when it comes out. But I will also say since it's a Mustang it will be a big deal regardless. Mustang just has that sort of appeal.

However Ford must be really smart now about when they reveal it's info. The C8 is going to be a major story in automotive and regular news. A mid engine vette has been talked about for decades and it's finally here. the C8 is going to dominate headlines come july whatever the date is.

7-18 could be the time they make at the Ring, it's a very sutil way to hide something important... And if That's the case, 7:18 could be super impressive For a Base Model C8

Although I like aspects of both, I wouldn't buy a tuner car. Martin summed up my feelings pretty well with these two sentences.
