I just checked again on my laptop instead of my phone and it seems that the base Stage 3 price only includes the 1-way adjustable suspension, which is $2k instead of $3k. The description says "available 3-way adjustable suspension...". That's going to be another grand or so on top of the $22k to get the 3-way. Anyway.

Oh and let's not forget the R&D that Ford had to put into it, the strict standards they have to abide by, the "Shelby" name which brings more money, and it is limited addition...not everyone will be able to get one even if they can afford it whereas the Roush is readily available to anyone who wants one at any time. So all things considered I'm not seeing how the GT500 will be less than $80K.
Yeah, there's a few things the Roush has customized that add some cost that are parts bin parts for the GT500 like the digital screen. The Roush also has other adders like the fake side scoop (why?), hood strut, Roush floor mats, etc. But those don't seem to be big ticket items. Considering the DCT and engine upgrades of the GT500, and totally revised front/rear/hood and tweaked drivetrain and suspension, yeah, $80k wouldn't surprise me. I'm still guessing they'll try to avoid that $80k mark and come in at upper 70s.

We also have to add in that the GT500 has a stronger engine with stronger internals and lots of other features. The 5.0 despite how advanced it may be is still just their run-of-the-mill V8. I remember the Voodoo engine was around $20K to $25K alone. So the Predator will likely be in that same price if not higher due to the addition of the supercharger. Maybe more like $25K to $30K. So I'm not sure Ford will be able to avoid an $80K tag.

There is one thing I have to criticize about this Roush package in comparison to other vehicles in the same price range of $60K. It does not have to beefed up trans, engine, drivetrain, etc as Devil mentioned. But you're essentially paying the same price. And it won't match a ZL1 around a track. I don't think it'll match a Redeye with only 710 HP either. So it's kinda like you'll be paying the same price but getting less. The Lebanon Stangs were 727 HP at $40K for a base model GT with the blower. So are the extras you get with this Roush worth an extra $20K? I take it the Roush will handle better than the LFP Stangs. But again, is it $20K better?

Now not to turn this into an argument but it seems like GM packed a lot of performance into the ZL1 and ZLE for the price they are. All the upgraded mechanical parts, the handling characteristics, warranty, etc. And you can get one for about the same price as the Roush is even without all that. And the ZL1 is fully loaded at that. Sure GM kinda screwed up with the TM on the M6 ZL1 and then refused to adjust it despite all the complaints. But when you see cars like the Roush and what they're priced at and what their limits are and compare it to the ZL1 you really have to admire what GM did.

I guess Roush wants to get their hands in. A $22K package for 710HP. You also get other upgrades as well. So a fully loaded brand new GT with this package would be somewhere around $65K to $75K it looks like. Although this isn't an official Ford factory vehicle I do wonder how it would stack up against the competition. They claim a quarter mile of less than 11 seconds. And there is no mention of a speed limiter. So I would also wonder how fast it's mechanical limit will be with the limiter removed. And I wonder if this would be a good alternative for those who want a GT500 but will not pay markups. At that price it is certainly less than a Redeye and around the price of a ZLE. But would it perform as well as those cars?
The Roush packages are a joke. You would be lucky to see 550 rwhp out of their 710 package. Wait 6-months - year after the initial intro of the 500 and you will be able to grab one at MSRP I suspect.

For some reason Roush cars never seem to perform up to the expectations. I dont know if it is their tune or what. People get much better performance buying the base GT and then adding a supercharger later.

The smoking tire reviewed one for a couple weeks and it was trash. You can hear the tranny grinding the 1,2,3 shifts in the video. No way in hell I pay 70k for one.

Probably because they come with a warranty for 5 years. So they tune it conservatively so it won't break. Meanwhile it'll run like crap...but it won't break down, lol!! All the companies that offer a warranty install tunes that are shit so they can keep the engine safe.

Roush warranty is only 3 years I believe. Better than nothing but... there are better performing cars with full warranties that are cheaper.

Wow! That is not a flattering review.

The website clearly says 5 year/60k mile powertrain warranty. Not 3.

You're right. My bad. The 3 year is for the supercharger upgrade on a regular GT.

But that is why the performance is not that good. Because they throw a very mild tune on it because they warranty it. The Vortech and other blower systems with warranties likewise have crappy tunes. Some of them are so bad that the cars don't even run right.

Some chick wearing a Ford shirt says the MSRP is "67K...base model".

This guy got the price leaked to him thru IG.

SMH. Sadly the world has come to this. People posting bullshit on the internet for likes, subscribes, follows, etc. So any lie or misrepresentation is ok as long as you get followers.

Random thought....what if we learn the output ratings and price of the 2020 Corvette before we learn those things for the GT500? It could happen.
