If you are connected in anyway, with any device, Big Brother is watching!

I know on 5th Gens OnStar can be cut in less than 5 seconds (behind glove box) not sure about 6th Gens...But thieves prob know how to disable it. I wouldn't get OnStar for the security, but for the other amenities.

First time I tried to get directions (still in the trial period), they failed on multiple attempts to download. This went on about 20 minutes before they put me through to the tech team. Tech team was too busy to talk to me, apparently they were aware of the issue. An interesting alternative they suggested was to read me the directions which I could later play back as my journey progressed. I said thanks, I'll just use Waze. They did extend my free trial so I could give it another shot and it's worked fine since.

Anyone had any luck getting a loyalty or multi-car discount? Hard to justify the service on a full cost/value basis.

Another thing to NEVER get no matter how much it saves, (5% big deal) it keeps track of all of your speeds (80mph), fast take offs, hard braking...etc....

This is something I would never do. I also shut off the onstar version of this as well. I don't care what my driving score is.

I don't use Onstar on my Camaro, but I do on my pickup and my wife's pickup. I like for emergency response, traveling around Idaho, Mt, Wy and ND in the Winter makes it worth the cost for me. I also I like the ability to call Onstar if my Dmax throws a code and have them diagnose the issue.

I have it in all 3 GM cars 2017 Camaro & Colorado + 07 Solstice GXP. If my wife is driving and has an issue without me, peace of mind for her and "me"...

Note, I'm older (Kids out of college), I get this is expensive for a younger person/family...

If car breaks down, you call for tow, both based on cell phone technology, no service for you.. guess what neither will onstar. Its not magic.

If we were worried about money, driving a camaro woudl not be wise choice, so throwing away few bucks a month for illusion of peace of mind.. priceless ?

So if your spouse is in an accident and it responds to the event, that is not value if he/she cannot dial their cell phone? That is my point... But again, I just shared "my" reason why, not an opinion about big brother, etc...

Not sure I stated it was a monetary problem.

most people don't understand that point at all. What about plate scanners, red light cameras, street corner cameras. So many other ways people don't think about that are able to be used to track people.
