On my 2016 SS M6 (always in Sport), there is absolutely a dead zone at the first 10ish% of throttle input. This usually does not bother me much because I know how far I need to press the pedal down to get a response.
My biggest complaint with this issue is the intermittent occurrence when I'm rolling in 1st gear at ~3 MPH at about 15% throttle, nothing is happening, then gradually applying more and more throttle and the engine just does nothing. Then all of a sudden it opens the throttle body and adds fuel and she's on the brink of spinning tires. This seems to happen when I'm very slowly rolling a right turn on red or a stop sign in 1st gear. I've almost gotten rear-ended because I've already rolled into the intersection and I'm trying to accelerate and nothing happens for 3 seconds. Can't wait to tune this damn thing when the PT warranty expires. |

I have the same thing, but I only experience it when going through turns. My theory is that, it is the traction control.

Never happened to me in my previous SS M6, or my 2.0T M6. Never experienced a 10% dead spot in beginning of pedal travel. I still don't think this is normal.

So I think it a gm thing. I have a coworker that just bought a 2019 Silverado and it does the same thing. And gm has it governed to stop at 98 miles per hour. That sucks and the dealer is tying to figure it out. Or sates they are. Corporate trying to manage our lives

It's mostly in the tune, plus the LT5 throttle body also helped a bit with mine.
Throttle response is just about perfect now, it has a not crazy twitchy, yet well defined and authoritative tip-in.

Nothing to figure out here. GM SUVs, cars pickup trucks have all had Governors on them for well over 20 years The speed limit is determined by the speed rating of the tire that came on it from the factory. The dealership your friend is working with is either very stupid or they're just jerking his chain. Take your RS V6 Camaro for example it came with 168mph rated tires hence its governed to around 160mph. If you we're to have a 1LT V6 Camaro you would be limited to 118mph. Because that is the speed rating of the tires that come on a 1LT from the factory |

Guys who are having issues with throttle lag.....you need to install my ported TB
There are literally hundreds of positive reviews about this and how it eliminates or greatly reduces the lag and stumble your experiencing as well as improving overall throttle response, tip in throttle, and giving you a more linear throttle that's much more natural to drive and modulate. There is a reason I offer a money back 30 day guarantee as you would have to be crazy to want to return it after looking at the difference (between stock and my ported unit) an experiencing it installed in your car. Adds 150 CFM as well so there are real performance advantages when upgrading. Boosted cars normally pick up 10 - 15 RWTQ and RWHP and N/A cars 6 - 10 but the reason to own this mod is all the improvements in the day to day driving part throttle operation.....the gains in peak power and torque are really just a welcomed perk! This is one thread of many out there (and older thread chock full of dozens and dozens of independent feedback).....other threads on this forum or just do some Googling on the Net.....just type in Mamo ported TB https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...highlight=Mamo Hope some of you find this helpful....you have nothing to lose and all to gain trying this must have mod....you will thank me for the "push" if you were on the fence (although there really isn't any valid reason not to upgrade). I have spoken and typed at great lengths trying to explain to folks just how poorly the LT1/LT4 OEM TB is shaped in stock trim.....worst factory design TB ever installed on a performance car bar none (not surprising when you realize it was simply an inexpensive shelf item GM was already using on light trucks making half the power you guys are and this TB is soooo bad it should have never even have gotten the nod on that application). If your interested in more of the science behind what Im doing with flow information and pictures etc. click on these thread I posted a long time ago as well....its very informative https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=502504 Regards, Tony 661-714-1317 Mamo Motorsports www.mamomotorsports.com Last edited by Tony @ Mamo Motorsports; 05-04-2019 at 09:00 PM. |

Plus in the event the TB I send you has any type of issues, I can easily swap it out for another new unit. Its just a much smoother deal selling new outright and the TB is inexpensive which makes this approach even more of a no brainer. Call or email me if you would like to discuss this further. You seem in tune with this issue and the more you are the more you will appreciate the benefits of the ported TB I provide. -Tony 661-714-1317 tony@mamomotorsports.com |
