This normal?
So yesterday I was looking at this 2SS I was thinking of purchasing
Its a 2017 2SS with 21K miles on it. The car looks great and everything looks in good condition. When I was expecting the engine I started to hear this sound. The dealer said it was just the noise from the air condition unit and its normal. Anyone know if this is a fact? or they just trying to hide something. |

I’ve never had my a/c unit do this. This is definitely not normal.

Never heard that before. It may still be perfectly functional, but that’s not normal. Definitely not something you should have to deal with.

What do you guys think it might be?
something serious? Should I ask them for a discount on it? or not even bother with it anymore? |

I wouldn’t mess with it. That sounds metallic and it’s somewhere in the rotating assembly.

Yep, just like the dealer said normal. Just like everything else in the car that goes bad.

First time someone has posted this noise on a running car that I recall, but it seems to happen on some cars. HVAC related, probably a check valve squeaking as the evaporator warms up.

Not an internal noise, almost sounds like a cold belt slip. or an idler pulley squeak. does it go away after it warms up?

Not the engine. That much I know. As mentioned, could be a valve in AC.
Have them fix it, or knock some $$$$ off the price. |

Is it at a Chevy dealer? If so with that year and mileage it should be a certified pre-owned.

Don't buy unless they fix it.
