After I picked up my Camaro I was surprised to see the plate bracket still in the trunk. Once I realized they did me a favor I was pretty happy about it.
I went with the ZL1Addons tow hook/front plate deal.

You know whats more insane, is they charge you for the front plate holder. Last care we bought the plate bracket was like $45 from the factory for a piece of plastic we threw away.

I simply asked the sales lady to ensure the front plate bracket was left off. No issue at all. It's in the trunk still in the bag.

Eventually I imagine someone will tag me for it - at that point I'll buy a show and go or whatever it's called.

This happened to the first car I was going to buy

I walked outside to get some air only to noticed that they drilled into the front bumper

...immediately I canceled the deal and drove over an hour back home. A few months later I picked up the same car at another dealer with MRC and 4k off sticker

it was meant to be because MRC is mind blowing

I live in Indiana (rear plate only) but the dealer I bought from is in Illinois and they require the front plate. The car was a leftover 2017 and had the front plate bracket already installed when I went to look at the car. I bought a Chevy Bow-Tie plate and all is well.

I’m hoping it will pass. I’ve zip tied mine on for now. No way I’m drilling into the bumper. Bought mine used from an Ohio dealer and it was sold without a front plate bracket thankfully.

God forbid you get a door ding. You may just have to trade the car in afterwards. Trust me, a lot more things are going to happen to your car then two relatively small holes in your front bumper that is covered by a license plate. It's one less thing to be pulled over for if your state requires it.

What options do I have for this? Drill the rivets out? Can I plug this up somehow? Definitely do not want a front plate.
Did you buy it off the lot or did you order your car? That is ultimately where your answer lies with everything everyone said.

1. Off the lot they don't have to but most dealerships may or may not have a policy loosely followed to do it before anything leaves their lot that they ordered for the lot.

2. Which I hope is the case you ordered your car. They then knowingly violated bumper to bumper warranty by damaging the front fascia not checking to even see if you had a plate option therefore could be liable to order and install you a new fascia. I'd get the Sto-N-Go asap if this is the case.

I'm not a lawyer or dealership expert but the advice is sound and accurate you might as well give it a shot.

6 years with no. plate never pulled over for it. I did get pulled over in my 5th gen for expired inspection. The Officer asked if I knew what he was pulling me over for and I said front plate. he said no I dont care about that. He then told me his scanner showed my inspection was expedited. I told him i just put in a cam and got it tuned so the ECU wasnt ready yet. He said no problem just get it done as soon as you can. have a nice night. We had a long winter so it expired befor the salt was off the roads. My dealer asked if I wanted it put on the 5th gen I said no. They knew i didnt want it on the 6th gen. I am thinking about getting a ZL1 addons tow hook plate though.

Here in Europe we do not escape, it is mandatory to carry front plaques, so we sharpen the ingenuity by installing smaller "legal" plaques and with some supports that do not require holes, if you do not want to and you can install them in the place of the grill that you want , but I think they do not adapt to US plates.

With a plate, screws and nuts, it is held firmly and the holes are avoided, apart these supports are completely hidden behind the plaque

I am originally from your border state, PA. No front plate required. The USAF sent me to CA. Need a plate. Spent two years in Florida. No plate. Now back in CA (thank goodness). Need a plate again. Now being a car guy, I have never put a plate on the front of my cars. I’m 62 now and have only gotten one ticket from some goofy bike cop in a small town. The plate thing is ridiculous!
