There are mullet wearing, backwoods, cousin marrying Camaro owners who live by the edict that a vehicle must be American and have a loud V8, but technology is proving that similar to those owners, that mentality is passé.

Stock for stock, a 2.0T won't beat a V6 and a V6 won't beat a V8. It doesn't make the V8 the best vehicle though. The appearance of all three is similar, so ultimately it depends on the driving experience that the purchaser is seeking.

I bought a V8 and I'm pleased with it. It isn't better than someone else's car, but it's the best for me.

I will add to the mullet Camaro owner comment. Last summer going to a cruise night I passed a guy in a canary yellow 78 or so z/28. As I cruised by in the middle lane I looked over ...we exchanged thumbs up and I moved on. This guy had pink fuzzy dice on the mirror....a head band. ..mullet blonde hair and a tank top with a gold chain and bracelets. It was the best example of Mullet Camaro owner I have ever seen.

Your comments stated with “all the V6 drivers” couldn’t handle a muscle car on the dragstrip. My point was don’t down an entire group of people based on the engine in their car when your “superior” V8 car is barely any faster.
No...it said most drivers posting would get beat. I said drivers....over all the years and countless debates on this very subject Ive never commented in a negative way toward the v6. Just like I say how alot of Corvette drivers would get by slower cars at the track...and do on a regular basis. It not about the car. This arguement is nothing new and always ends up this way. What's a 6th gen v6 stock run ? The 5th gen was 14 seconds plus. And "barely" faster. Gotch ya.

I would enjoy seeing that too, as I would watching Joe Dirt.

You backtrack a heck of a lot faster than your car goes forward.

There is a time slip database. It’s awesome, you should read it sometime.

Its called the " fast list" So I'm guessing a stock 6th gen v6 is faster then your car.

Please, just stop. You're getting annoying. But I suppose that's your reason to continue in this thread.

I find the discussions interesting because it's an opportunity to learn varying points of views. It's when some V8 owners compensating for shortcomings attempt to degrade 4 and 6 cylinder vehicles, that disagreements become offensive and threads deteriorate into pissing contests.

For us over 40 with prostate trouble this could be an issue.

I'll tell you guys right now I miss my 6 gen V6 something terrible. Was a great car. If I bought another six gen I would look for the V6 if I was to buy another 5th gen it would have to be V8.

Enjoy your cars guys
