Worth the watch....
Skip to 13:00 to see info directly about the catch can, but the whole video is worth it.

I think most people will say to add catch can. I think crowd favorite is Mishimoto

Are catch cans necessary? No. To say they’re necessary would be an admission of a design fault.
Can catch cans catch some junk that would otherwise make its way to the valves and intake track? Do they catch all the junk? Yes. No. Do catch cans work? Yes, but to the degree they work is a matter of who engineered the can and your definition of “work”, all are not created equal in this instance. Do catch cans harm the engine? No. Are they worth the money? That’s a personal decision. In cooler weather check the catch can more often due to condensation that may build up as the temperature drops. Here's a test I did +6 years ago using an Elite Engineering catch can.
I put a clear plastic fuel filter in the line after the catch can and before the intake to try to see if anything is getting past the catch can. https://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=423689 The catch can would collect a full ounce of oil/crap between oil changes (3000 miles) while letting maybe a drop of oil vapor get past.

It's not expensive, and it does keep a lot of oil out the manifold, and it's super easy to install. I installed one when I did my CAI
