Recall on 2018s

My dealership called me today and left me a message that there is a recall on my 2018 Zl1 1LE.

I didn’t get a chance to call them back yet. I was curious if anyone has heard of any recalls?

Last time I was in for an oil change they told me that they ordered me a new speedometer / screen unit for a recall. I told them thanks, but I don’t need that done now because it’s working just fine and I don’t want them ripping apart the car. Could be that, but I’m totally guessing. Also mine is a 2017, so maybe this is totally off base.

I was just in for an oil change on the 12th and there was no mention.

I saw a post on FB today. Talked about a negative battery cable recall for the 18’s. There was no more elaboration on the issue. I will post if anything pops up.

Have not heard of any 2018 ZL1 recalls as a dealer owner/operator...

Thank you boys. I’m going to be doing some traveling today so I’ll have some down time. If I remember to I’ll call the dealership and ask them. Hopefully it is something simple.

Just called the dealer. The recall for my car is about wire insulation in some part of the wiring harness in the engine bay.
I remember reading about it a while back. All they do is add some sort of wire insulation to the harness.

Interesting, I bought my car on Sunday and they didn't mention it. I wonder if mine already had the update. If I knew which wire I'd take a look.

Looked up my vin there are 3 recalls on the car now, newest is dated 10-21-18 and is for adding more tape to some of the wires in the engine bay, Here are 3 PDF files with the recalls.

IMO the new one can be done by any one, all there doing is adding some Tesa tape, we stock them and so does Amazon.

Seems as if all three of these recalls are for the same issue (lack of wire insulation) just at different locations.

I keep getting this parking brake system indicator light at random times. Comes and goes randomly the two times I’ve had it.

Wonder if this is related to the recalls.

Interesting. I have a 2018 purchased in April. Just checked the VIN on my.gm.com and it didn't show any active recalls.

I really appreciate everyone bringing issues like this up tho!

We check GM SI for my car, and have all the history in front of us, funny part is what i see in my service on the car, now need to have a talk with the services department of the dealer car came from

and what was done to the car at 1445MI on it, i dont remember that it had any work done on it.
