I've been a Ford guy most of my life and still have 2 other Mustangs. But the car I jump in all the time to drive is the ZLE.

Agreed - the ZLE owner reviews are far better from what I have seen than what anyone else is saying about them. I always favor what the owners have to say!

I had the non-R and it tramlined a lot even on good roads. Just something about the suspension. The ZL1 has wider tires and it does not do that. I love the ZL1.

Yes, that's why I jumped in here. I'm a car "nut" and not loyal to any one brand. I've driven just about everything there is, and I'll tell you this... The ZLE simply kicks ass. It's not a light car, but that's because it has all the amenities (unlike the Z28) and a fantastic price point for the performance it offers.

Here's another story that may help you guys out...

I love doing canyon carving in SoCal as we have some great mountain roads. I know how fast I can fly through the canyons, and I took out the 350R numerous times and flogged the crap out of it. I also have taken out the ZLE on those same roads. When my ZLE was still bone stock, one of my track friends commented how much quicker I was in the ZLE versus the 350R. I've also taken both of those cars to the track, and I was much faster in the ZLE.

I didn't like daily driving the 350R because the seats weren't all that comfortable and it tramlined like crazy. While the 350R sounded better, it was a louder call overall. If a client calls when I'm in my ZLE, I can close the exhaust valves and have a conversation with incredible bluetooth quality where the caller doesn't even know I'm in the car. All these things add up to make a great daily driver.

Great assessment and I agree 100%. I love my GT350, but have not driven it since early July when I got the ZLE. Overall, The ZLE is better than the GT350 in just about every category, but the GT350 has a certain raw element the ZLE does not have. Between the ZLE, GT350 and RS I enjoy just about every aspect of american performance. Like you, I am not loyal to a brand, but rather to the cars/trucks (as long as they are American) and plan on adding a Hellcat Widebody Redeye to the collection next.

Or, Michelin vs. Goodyear. I had PSS that tramlined like crazy.

Pilot Super Sports here too and mine also tramlines like a MFer. It's a common trait of all GT350s. Still love it though.

I’m not really an exotic car type of guy. If I could afford to have both cars, I would but I have neither, yet. Think they should have compared a ZL1 without the 1LE package for their comparison of daily use. They do a video of cars geared towards the track and don’t take them to the track, supwitdat? Would have like to have them run timed 0-60, 1/4, laptime of a track with turns (each driver in each car), that’s the missing half of the video. No mention of the real out the door price difference either. Think it was a tie between the leather gloves and the 1LE shaking the manboob.

Pretty good video, but it is a shame they didn't know squat about the ZL1 1LE features and modes. Also, looked like the just picked a rough route so they could whine about the suspension. Admittedly not great on rough roads, but is magic on smooth pavement. Wish I could get my 2500HD to ride half as good.

The ZL1 1LE hood is way misaligned. The middle is is sticking up above the bumper line.

The ZL1 owner didn't know much about his own car.

It was a good video though.
First he says he daily drives the GT350 whenever the weather is nice so the softer ride is important. Then he says he doesn’t need cooled seats on his track car and that feature should only be on daily drivers.

It took the R owner 15 second to rattle off the entire list of petty M6G Camaro slams (temp dials, tilted display, etc.). The ZLE owner was much more reserved IMO.
